Kramat Djati is one of the primadonnas of land transportation from Bandung. Established in 1968, the company has served more than 70 routes to various areas in Sumatra, Java, and Bali, complete with various classes options and bus facilities that fulfill the needs of its passengers. Its service of more than four decades has been validated through numerous awards, including the Wahana Adhiguna 2017 award which categorized it as a four-star non-economy intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) bus.
Kramat Djati was founded by Arief Budiman in 1968. This bus company was initially known as Sumber Djaja, a freight service company serving routes within the city of Bandung, West Java. In its development, this company became Kramat Djati. In 1970, Kramat Djati began to expand its intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) bus service. Using only one unit of economy class bus, this bus company introduced a new route to Jakarta. To further expand its service area, Kramat Djati grew its fleet and opened a route to Merak. In 1986, Kramat Djati introduced an express night bus that served several cities in Central Java, West Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. Four years later, a service to Bali was launched to answer the demand for a safe and convenient land transportation. Kramat Djati continued to reach several milestones in the 1990s. In 1995, this bus operator transitioned into PT Kramat Djati Asri Sejati. Since the change, Kramat Djati continued to expand its services to reach several areas in Sumatra, such as Lampung, Palembang, Pekanbaru, and Bengkulu. In addition, Kramat Djati also expanded its service to reach East Indonesia by launching the Bandung–Mataram route in 2000. To date, Kramat Djati has been serving more than 70 intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) routes covering several cities in Java, Bali, Madura, Nusa Tenggara, and Sumatra. To maximize its operational activities, this Bandung-based bus company guarantees the convenience of every passenger by using fleets of Mercedes-Benz, Hino, MAN, and Scania buses. It also offers excellent bus facilities, available in different classes ranging from economy AC and VIP to executive. Economy class passengers will get to enjoy a comfortable bus cabin with a 2 - 3 seat format. Meanwhile, the VIP and executive class buses feature a comfortable and spacious 2 - 2 seat format. These classes also offer a variety of facilities such as snacks, meal service, pillows, blankets, toilets, a smoking area, and LED TVs. Kramat Djati management currently runs its business from its head office on Jl. Ambon No. 3, Bandung, West Java. Fueled by its vision to become customers’ favorite bus company, Kramat Djati continues to maintain its service quality. This quality of service, which has been continuously improving for more than four decades, has also been recognized through the Wahana Adhiguna 2017 award, which categorized Kramat Djati as a four-star non-economy intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) bus.
