Citadines Sukhumvit 23 Bangkok

Firstly, I must say I love everything at this apartment hotel! Here at Citadines Sukhumvit 23 I have all the facilities and staff support I need to enjoy holidays in Bangkok: Super comfy, clean apartment with great view; Convenient tuk tuk service taking me to the BRT and MRT, also back to the hotel; Well equipped kitchen with all needed cooking utensils; Nice supportive staff always patient showing me around. To sum up, I feel like staying in my upgraded home in Bangkok! The location is perfect, too! After a shop until you drop day, I can always treat myself a late night meal with a wide variety of delicious street food at reasonable price (100 bht/som tum with fresh shrimps, crabs, 50-60 bht/noodle bowl, 20 bht/chicken wing). If you want to bring food back to hotel room, enjoying meal and watching TV while sitting in your sofa in your living room, there are bowls, dishes, forks, spoons and of course, chopsticks, all utensils you need. How about saving or cooking food for tomorrow? Fridge, microwave and electric cooker are available in the kitchen! Don't worry about the smell as cooker hood will take care of it! If you want to, the housekeepers will help clean dishes as they make up room 🙂. Also, have I mentioned that is is only 10 min walk to Terminal 21 shopping mall, 1 BTS station from Emporium and EmQuartier shopping complex, on the same BTS line with Siam (Chit Lom)? When I say 10 min walk I don't mean you need to walk in the crazy heat of Bangkok, there's tuk tuk service taking you to the complex (with air conditioner, hooray!), if you come back past tuk tuk service hour (9pm), walking back from BTS to hotel is safe as the street is always quite crowded. When confused, just pick up your phone and call the hotel, they will give detailed instruction! Of course, it is close to the bar quarter, yet I don't see any issue as the bar quarter is quite separated, plus, it might be a great point if you want to explore night life in Bangkok 😉!

This is a type of Apart-Hotel, and it definitely mean it. The room is very well equipped with kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Although it's not that big, but everything you need definitely is there. Check in is a breeze, I request for an early check in, and I arrive at 12pm, the room is ready and I can check in already. And they even allowed late check out until 1pm. Requested for a room with bathtub, but it's just a small bathtub, if you are not a fan of having a dip, you can skip the bathtub. But Bangkok has quite a lot varieties of bathbomb, and if you would like to try one, then you will need a room with bathtub. The water temperature of the shower is a bit hard to adjust. Sometimes it will be too cold, and sometimes it will be too hot. You need to keep adjusting to get your ideal temperature, other than that, water pressure is all good even at high floor. The property offer free tuk-tuk shuttle, which I think is a very good thing to offer to guests. The tuk-tuk will bring you to Asok BTS station or MRT Sukhumvit, and also a return trip at nearby 7-11. This save a lot of time and very convenient. The location of this property is also very strategic. Terminal 21 is nearby, you wouldn't want to miss the food court, Pier 21. There is one whole row of massage shops outside of the hotel, but beware of some doggy massage. You can ask for suggestion from the frontdesk for a nice massage shop. Healthland Asok and Asia Herb Association Thong Lo is also within 10mins distance. If you are a fan of Pratunam, this might not be the place for you, as it need longer travel time via BTS, or car. But if you are coming for Bangkok not focusing only on shopping, I will definitely recommend here. Let me summarize the pros and cons for better reference. Pros: 1. Strategic location. Terminal 21, BTS Asok, MRT Sukhumvit, ARL Makkasan is all nearby. And lots of massage outside of the hotel. 2. Complimentary Tuk-Tuk Service. 3. Well equipped rooms, with kitchen, living room and separate bedroom. 4. Excellent security. Access card for main entrance and elevator. 4. Excellent Service. Cons: 1. Water temperature hard to control. 2. Not much place to eat nearby (maybe there is, but I didn't notice) Will I stay again when I'm in Bangkok? Definitely.

The room was actually better than the picture (1 bed room type). Room was quite and cleaned everyday including kitchen utensils. There were two 40inch TVs-one in the bedroom and one in the living-room. Staffs were really nice, check in and check out was quite efficient. Free tuk-tuk to nearby MRT Sukhumvit station was really helpful since sometimes the traffic in Bangkok downtown was so bad to opt for taxi / grab-car especially during evening-rush hour. The -coffee-club downstairs was really cozy catering smoking and non-smoking area. All and all, the hotel was really giving the best for their price and as a truly 4 stars.

All is fine except the queen beds. Not comfortable for 2 people. Too small.

Basically, the places is good and location is very close to everywhere, the cons is the place is near to pubs, bars and there are a lot of escort ladies which is very uncomfortable for us who went there in a group of family
