Very good. Kids are very fun. Both playing water and playing the kid club. Cleanliness is good. The housekeeper is good, the room is wide, booked through the website for about 2,500. Breakfast is available in a variety of choices. Most of the people who stay in foreign countries 99% have many pools. There is an outdoor playground with a water park. Very recommended for taking children to rest.

Lovely resort! I feel the resort is best suited to families with children under 7 - as everything shuts down so early. Lots of babies and young children and programs for the littles.
The nightly performances and live shows were wonderful room was spacious clean and felt like a taste of home - loads of room to spread out kids stuff and still have space leftover
Food was average but there were awesome restaurants when you walk down the beach
The beach was spectacular! Warm sea water and clean!

Area outside hotel is full of good restaurants only a ten minute walk also if you are into diving you have the Dragon dive centre very close by . I would thoroughly recommend

We are a family of 4 (children aged 6 and 9) who have spent four nights at the sands. We were extremely satisfied with the cleaning, activities for the children and easy access to the local town. The pool area was really nice for mixed age groups. The beach was child-friendly and clean. It was easy to get sunbeds (4 pieces) even though we arrived at 10.30 am to the children's pool. The breakfast buffet was nice and the service was also satisfactory.

This was my second stay at this property and it was another great one.
The family rooms are spacious and have most things you need. We opted for the oil access in the Aqua wing and it was a great experience.
Breakfast is amazing, wonderful food and choices galore.
Loved the fish feeding experience daily for the kids
We had lunch at the the Manta Ray and Coconut/Talat and it was lovely. Great portions.
We also ate dinner at the Floating Market for a special fire show evening which was lovely .
The areas of improvement would be that some of the paths are a little dangerous for kids/older people. Need grates over holes etc. Also the fact that the Jellyfish bar is the only place to get draft beer and they ran out was disappointing.
Would also be handy to have a bottle opener provided in the rooms.

It was our wedding anniversary and The Sands specially decorated the bed and provided a sponge cake to help us celebrate. We stayed in a ground floor room with direct pool access and it was great for our two young boys. They were 3 other pools as well with the kids pool being a favourite. The resort has direct beach access and is an easy walk to the main stretch of Khao Lak with great dining options and local shopping. Breakfast had a wide selection which easily catered for our varied tastes. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed an amazing sunset on Christmas day and wished we could have stay longer. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather which was a bonus.

Lovely resort well thought out for children and adults. Separate pool for adults and breakfast also separate for the adults. Lots of very friendly staff. Lifeguards at all the children's pools safety was paramount. Washing facilities available for clothes however one machine out of 3 was out of order so often a queue to get washing done.
Food very good although same offering every day. Buffet breakfast excellent.

If you have kids this is a great option! The mini waterpark was great fun. The beach front is also nice and there are loads of sunbeds as well as three pools. Super kid friendly and our teen two-bedroom suite with bunk beds for the kids was perfect.

Our children are 9 and 12 and felt like this catered more towards younger families as a lot of babies around and most activities were aimed to younger children. Everything was as sold, nice room and accommodation but maybe lacked a bit of personality and catered more towards volume

If you have a family and want a hotel that suits everyone a stay at The Sands is a must! Our kids, 10 and 13yrs had an absolute ball. The hotel food options were great, even catered for gluten free and if we wanted something local we were close to so many restaurants. We are definitely coming back next year. Love the place.

Many areas for all to enjoy. Rooms very comfortable. Even asked to by mattress topper as it was so comfortable.
Some areas need maintenance such as Aqua Zone with rust and sharp edges. Timber rotting around pool access rooms and plenty of ant's. Overall will def come back. Easy walk to shops, markets and restaurants. And cheaper than Patong region. 6 times to Thailand and Khao Lak has been the best. And Sands best resort so far
