The place is basic but very clean. Good value for money. The host is so friendly and really make our stay feels like home. Will definitely book this place again if visiting the area in the future.

Stunning experience! The best hotel if you’d like to visit Tuscany. Easy access to Florence, Siena, Pisa and the many historic cities in Tuscany! The breakfast was gorgeous, they have free parking and for me the best thing in my stay in this hotel, the gentleman called Andrea who works at the Hotel! This gentlemen is a superb professional, very helpful and friendly!

This is a great hotel. Super friendly staff, very clean and most importantly for when we were there had great air-conditioning. It is very close to everything you want to do as long as you have a car, like we did.

The hotel is clean, well maintained and had every basic amenity I needed. Breakfast was included. The most exceptional part of the stay was Andrea, the manager at the front desk, as well as Frederica, and all the housekeeping staff. They were so warm, genuine, helpful and focused on delivering optimal hospitality. It didn't matter the time of day or night. A+ experience. Will stay again if in the area. Thank you!

Didn't catch the name of the staff, but that's where hotel staff from many other places should come to learn manners. Overall this is a town for older people, who comes to spa procedures, so that is the public you meet also in this hotel. We were just stopping for a night on our way to San-Marino, but got a pleasant surprise and mainly thanks to the staff here. Place is not fresh, but it's very well kept, clean and comfortable. Rooms are large and well planned for ventilation, so we slept with no air-con and just windows opened and that's in July in Italy!!! Short walk to old town, restaurants, vine bar. Decent breakfast.

Nice clean light hotel with 3 floors high up above town and valley. Nice common areas. Awful hard cardboard top mattresses, hard heavy pillows and tiny shower with a 1’ opening not everybody can fit through. Double bed is 2 twins pushed together! Italians pretend they do not understand the meaning of a double bed- saw that on every hotel except one! Very inconvenient. Mediocre breakfast with bad coffee- a shame in Italy! I cannot understand the high marks for breakfast in reviews- very misleading. . Otherwise, nice clean budget hotel with small rooms but nice balconies. Front has great views but felt a bit noisy. Back faces a mountain slope - quiet and private if u do not have people next door you share the balcony space with. Chose it for overrated reviews and the location-it was 30-40 min drive to all towns we wanted to visit.

I chose Hotel Santa Caterina solely because it was close by the Etruscan museum but I recommend it enthusiastically now for its simple charm, cleanliness, and especially the kindness of the proprietor. He seemed to anticipate what I might need with the perfect combination of warmth and professionalism, offering breakfast to me when I didn’t get downstairs until checkout time, letting me store my luggage while I visited the museum, calling me a taxi when I returned. N.B. To get to the museum you must watch the traffic but it is not far and the museum is excellent.

From the second I checked in until the second I checked out service in this hotel was first class. Great by the owner Andrea, he demanded he come and help with the luggage. Now I know very little Italian and he knew a little English but for 8 days we helped each other through the words. His staff are like him very attentive, when you left the room in the morning for breakfast by the time you returned it was cleaned top to bottom. Breakfast had something for everyone. You were happily great and seated and asked your preference of morning drink, no instant coffee here. We ate evening meals here both excellent cooked by Andrea's brother Fabio and served course by course by Andrea. As we were leaving again Andrea help with luggage to the car and gave us some homemade cantuccis as a token of appreciation. We chose Chiaciano Terme for the very reason it was central to all the distant towns Assisi, Florence, Siena etc. and it was perfect. The area is some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Andrea, Fabio and staff thank you for the four star hospitality, Mr Donald and Judith

The room was clean however the shower head did not spray correctly to fit the size of the small shower. The bed and pillows were not comfortable as I experienced in other hotels. The gentleman at the desk offered to give us bus and train times of departure. He was actually wrong about the bus time and we were waiting one hour outside and there was no bus. When we returned for his assistance he did nothing more but suggest we catch the next bus as a result we missed our train and had to pay extra money and spend extra hour-and-a-half waiting for another train. I would never go back to this hotel for this reason. I feel for his error he should have at least offered to drive us himself which he did have a hotel van available or at least assist us with sharing a taxi fee. The distance was only about five miles away from his hotel. He could have very easily just drove us himself so we would not miss our train. For an inexpensive night stay, the breakfast was adequate.

Great small hotel! Tricky parking, but nearly everywhere in Italy has parking space issues. Cement walls can carry voices. Buffet was very good.

The owner was extremely friendly and for breakfast there many homemade pastries and bread rolls. The hotel is well positioned between the historical old town and the newer centre with the thermal pools.

Used as an overnight stop to S Italy, this hotel was very convenient for the A1 and excellent value for money. The owner/manager is welcoming, helpful and speaks good English. Generous breakfast with delicious fresh pasties made by the owners brother.
