Booked for 5 nights at this place especially to relax by the pool and to walk/bicycle around the area. Upon arrival the pool was closed for repairs. Due to a misunderstanding thought the pool would be closed for the duration of our stay but with the help from a representative of Traveloka (thanks once more) and the manager of the Guesthouse things were sorted and by 6 that night swimming was possible again. By that time we figured that the Fan only room in the 37 degrees heat was not the right option for us and we upgraded to an airconditioned room. The fan only room as well as the air conditioned rooms were very pleasant, both very clean and we had cheerful, friendly daily housekeeping incl fresh towels and water. The mattress was uncomfortable for us though, just too hard. The guesthouse/resort is set in well kept gardens and the pool, once repaired , was a beauty and kept very clean. We could not get the umbrellas to work but due to the layout of garden and shade from trees it worked out ok. Sunloungers and chairs around the pool. We had breakfast at the resort one day which was tasty but unfortunately coffee on offer was nescafe🥴😟 Coffeeshops in town do sell good coffee incl the 7/11 shop near the market. Good water pressure in shower, good wifi. Positioned right in town and a close walk to everything, incl the river. Chiang Khong itself has far more interesting places to visit and places to walk/bike to than what you expect at first glance and our time here as well as at the resort was great! Thank you Namkhong Guesthouse and Resort crew🤗😄 Tip: Try the Hainanese chicken rice place on the main road, close to the resort. Great food, great price, clean and very friendly service. And if you only have very little time visit the Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Khong . It is a beautiful very well looked after Wat
