Comfort Apartments Box Hill

The cleanliness was not good.

Was unable to contact reception before arriving at the hotel for an after hours check in (10pm). Was later (the next day) advised that reception was in fact, staffed until midnight however, during business hours (I called at 5pm to confirm) I was advised that reception is closed at 8pm and that I should call the reception number to be let in. I was very far from Box Hill so I called 9 times, went straight to a "no message can be left on this service". Expedia support team were unable to contact them as well. The hotel has since refused a refund and marked me as no-show. I think I made a calculated decision at close to 10pm by not being stranded at Box Hill of all places based on the information I had at hand, reception closes at 8, call us for after hours, no answer in repeated calls by both myself and Expedia. I will see if the ACCC see things my way otherwise I will accept their decision on who is at fault here. Shouldn't be an unreasonable request for a hotel to do what they said they will do and simply ensure your phone service works if you're advising out of town travellers to call before checking in after hours.

The Comfort Apartments are not somewhere I would rush back to. The room was a good size, the bathroom had a good pressure on the shower, the kitchen facilities basic, no glasses. No balcony as such, you could not sit out, only room for the air con unit. The skirting in the apartment was unclean, the carpet fraying in one area. The bed was not comfortable. The upside, it's close to the shopping centre and transport. Was actually quite disappointed.🙁

Good staff but room was dirty, sheets dirty and not fitted to the bed. Woke up itchy and with red eyes. Had another night booked but cancelled it and booked elsewhere

We arrived at 7.58 pm called the afterhours number multiple times and noone answered the phone after many attempts we went for dinner and continued to try calling finally at 8.45pm he answered the afterhours phone. We had driven 3.5hrs to get there for a hospital admission the next day and were fearful we had no were to stay if he didnt answer. The next morning we had to get ready early to gobto hospital and the hairdryer in the room didnt work. They provided a replacement we were very disapointment in the service and no compensation made for the poor service yet this was not cheap. Also walls are dirty need to be cleaned or repainted and pillows were miniature. Will not stay again due to the afterhours phone issue with no compensation made 😒

Room was ok but very tired. Hallways extremely dirty, some of the soaps had been used and put back. Not well maintained and very tired. Was not told parking was an optional extra.

Close to shops and transport to get into the city. Got a free upto a balcony room. Good secure undercover parking

Great location

Good enough if on a tight budget. General appearance a bit beat up and worn down. Room had a very loud air con, which was only mildly effective. No clothes driers despite being listed on the amenities.

The room was fairly neat, bedding could be slighlty more modern. Parking was extra, at the back towards the parking it looked quite unsafe and the gate was very very slow also very untidy by the parking area.

The host surprisingly was available when we arrived at 1 am

Staff were friendly and we arrived super late but they were there to help us check in

Good location and heating and air con in good working condition

Was comfortable and clean and close to where we needed to be. Friendly, helpful staff.

After hours there is no service and the employee after hours are non professional , unable to provide service, very rude, they have some residents they are not social and does not maintain any etiquette , arguing over the phone in the reception area most of the time in the evenings, noone to look after these
