Hotel Harry, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I was attending the City2Surf and this place was very reasonably priced and convenient to the race start and CBD. It states it is a live music venue and can be noisy, certainly not my experience on a Saturday night, couldn't hear a thing in my room. Takes awhile for the hot water to come through, but that was noted in the information in the room.

This is a great stay so close to the CBD and public transport If you’re planning a night out and just need somewhere to rest your head at the end of the night… this is your place! The rooms are small but have what you need. It has a bistro and bar onsite and a convenience store opposite. Parking is a block away. Great value stay for an overnight

The fire sprinkler leaked during the night soaking the top half of the bed, construction started nextdoor at 7am with loud jack-hammering and the TV connection stopped working at night. Was very expensive on that particular night, and was the worst hotel experience I have had to date.

Room was very expensive and extremely poor value for money. It did not look like at all like the images presented online. The bathroom was really dated, tiny, unrenovated and could only be described as basic at best. There was no cleaning serice for our 2 night stay. It was in the midst of a major renovation.

Shower needed to be fixed. Room was small but we where only there for one night. Walking distance to Paddy market and oxford street .

It's a great location, lovely scene. Staff were really lovely, taking on my last minute booking and getting me checked in. The room was good with a great view of the city, although the hot water took a while to turn on.

I enjoyed my stay - live music and dancing in the hotel and vibrant nightlife all around. Actual room was sub-par (on previous occasions, it has been much better). Bathroom tiles were literally mouldy on both walls and floor. Window sash was broken so almost took my head off when I opened it and it crashed shut. Shower was very hard to get right - boiling or freezing and wouldn't stay at set temp. while water pressure was really poor. Otherwise great. Comfy bed, pleasant staff, great food.

Nice old hotel and was easy access for the business I had to attend

Harry’s is such a funky, unique hotel in Surry hills. So close to public transport and to the hussle and bustle but far enough away for it to be quite and cozy - a great place to come home to

Staff were friendly and room was clean, however the shower water goes all over the bathroom as there is no door or curtain

Close to Central and CBD. Great music and dancing in the evening. Room was compact, but very quiet and comfortable.

Old world with a little quirk

Really old hotel above a pub. Stinks of smoke.

Good fun place but staff and processes sloppy and disorganised

Great location and cool bar downstairs, unfortunately everything else was a shambles. Sound travelled through the rooms so if you are staying on Fridays or Saturdays, dont expect to sleep until 2am. (No mention on Expedia listing of late night club). The room was dusty and dated, bathroom drain a little smelly. Possibly preference but bed was uncomfortable, to soft with no support. No duvet cover, only sheets around the duvet which wasnt clean. I don't expect much for budget but this place didnt get any of the essentials right. Wouldn't stay again and personally think the rooms are not fit for purpose on club nights. Note: cant fault staff, they were all friendly and respectful.

The room didn’t even have a mirror or ventilation! Stayed 1hour and handed keys back and stayed elsewhere

Clean rooms

Unfortunately, the room had a strong chemical odor (new carpeting I was told put in during the pandemic) and was also musty/mildewy. Left the following morning physically ill. The manager on duty tried to help, but he had no real options. If you have any sort of allergies, this is not the place for you.

Room was nice. Very cool bar downstairs, staff were lovely as well

Was a great base to the capital theatre as well as great food.
