The drain had a terrible smell when we arrived but the staff fixed it promptly.

This place is perfect for a solo traveller. I had a small room for two nights on the 2nd floor, overlooking the road and although i could see the traffic, and enjoyed the view, I most certainly couldnt hear it, it was perfectly soundproof and with great blackout blinds. The queen bed may be too small for two ppl but was perfect for one, and was very comfortable with quality sheets, soft high mattress, and most importantly, 4 big high pillows. Other hotels seem to buy their pillows from the Disappointing Pillow Company. I had a very comfortable, good sleep both nights. The room was spotless on arrival and the bathroom was the perfect size, though not a great deal of privacy if you are a couple. I had breakfast downstairs in the bar which was delicious and served promptly. The floor I was on was very quiet, I did not hear any noise from the corridor or other guests. The Smart tv was a good size and quality and has built in movie and tv choices, and I had no trouble streaming content from my phone but you will need to download a Chromecast app to do so, this is my only gripe as it would be easier to just update the tv to carry the current crop of streaming apps and you can sign in to your own account. Not everyone is tech savvy with streaming etc. In all it was the perfect hideaway for a couple of nights, close to transport as the 58 tram is just on the corner, and a short walk to the art gallery. There is a supermarket opposite, and another cafe on the corner.
