Great location right on the Derwent River excellent restaurant

Stayed for 2 nights as it was close to the Mona Art Museum. Although the motel looks dated, I believe this is intentional to give the retro feel. All the facilities in our room worked, and the bed was super comfortable. One of my best sleeps ever. We headed over to the restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised with the menu. Breakfast gave us a wide selection. We had breakfast on both mornings. The pancakes were superb. We even had dinner there on both evenings. The staff at the restaurant were very accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Check-in and checkout went without a hitch, and the girl at the office was most helpful. We will definitely be back at the next opportunity.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room is rundown but in good condition. Comfy bed, hot water and we were able to order food from the restaurant to our room. Great views of the water and mountains and down the road from Mona.

The villa was spacious and clean. The only downside was the noise from the road. If I had been staying longer, I would have requested a move. Staff were very nice. We hadn’t realized that the reception closed at 8.00 pm and restaurant. Unable to get food or room service.

Staff are sensational and a real asset The restaurant has very good food and a nice menu to select from. Food is tasty, well cooked and presented. Prices are very good. Have stayed there many times and its our "go to" for accommodation in Hobart. Easy to find, easy access and not in the busy centre of the city, but it is on the main road.

I’m rating this negatively because of my experience in getting the keys of the booked room. I know I booked the room at the very last moment, but the hotel had a very poor out-of-hours check-in service. I had to call the property seeking my room information and was only told at that time that due to a hotel policy, I should provide my credit card information for a security deposit, and I had no access to my credit card at that time but could provide the info in 15 mins; however, the reception was closing in five minutes. Leaving me with no option and requesting an alternative solution. I was told that a security bond would be exempted and I would get the keys. On arrival with my family, including my two-year-old son, I had no information about my room or any check-in information. I had to call security, which took some time, and we waited in the car for so long outside the motel before security arrived and looked for my room keys inside. I just want to ask the motel or Expedia to flag these weird motel policies before taking the booking and payment deduction so the customer can make an informed decision and avoid being left in such a situation.

Lovely fresh look, MCM vibe, tasty and fast meals, amazing view, clean room, courteous and non invasive staff and good overall experience. Great shower. The obligatory milk, tea, coffee, and bikkies. Unseasonably warm day meant I didn’t sleep as cool as I’d have liked. Used the pedestal fan supplied.

Good property we can recommend for someone

Great place to stay for a few nights. There is a restaurant on site but we had a full kitchen . The unit is very clean and the position getting around Hobart is good with access to the highway .
