Residence Inn by Marriott Montreal Downtown

Overall, I had a great stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott. It was clean, and the location was excellent.

Maintenance and cleaning staff were excellent. Front desk was under par. Little reaction and lack of caring response to our complaints about renovation noise coming from the 5th floor. Our sleep was interrupted both mornings of our stay around 5:30 - 6:00am. Drilling, sanding noise disruptions. It was a shame as we particularly chose the Residence Inn for its quality and comfort based on our past years experience in Ottawa. When we mentioned our complaint early both mornings, the response was “so sorry to hear that” not even thanking us for staying or offering us any incentives to return. Try not certain why work was being done so early in the mornings. Lack of sleep and not being able to have a peaceful “getaway” to celebrate our 34th wedding Anniversary was a bit too much to swallow. Details matter, paying attention to the little things is what we know Residents Inn by the Marriott is what we have become accustomed to. Not so in Montreal. Unfortunately, our first impression of the room was offset by the experience of being locked in the washroom. Luckily, maintenance staff came right away. They repaired the faulty latch on the washroom door. We would love to give the Residents Inn by the Marriott another try. However, to be fair, it would be nice to be recognized with a future discount. No guest should go through this experience. We paid well for the two nights. It could have be a nicer stay. Great value for money - we loved the location and the surrounding area - staff was great and very accommodating - would consider it next time I’m in Montreal

There's two things that was not great. Space to park a pickup truck was limited and the room was not ready at 4PM.

Booked through Expedia didn’t get a room at this hotel they moved room to a disgusting hostel at another location which we left immediately will not help will not refund and Expedia also will not help. Steer clear!!
