Staff were really good, but are let down by the state of the property, hopefully the owners will spend some none on the property to bring it back to where it should be, so the staff can be proud.

This is a difficult review. The owners have only recently taken over and are working hard to improve things. The place is very tired in places, needing repairs and redecorating. The staff were lovely, the food was very good, the bed was nice, clean and comfortable.....but there were stains on the carpet and the bathroom was dirty.

Absolutely terrible place. Booked using Hotels.com which stated staff were there until 11pm to book you in - I have been online again and checked that this is still the advertised checking in time and it is. A telephone number is given to book in with that no one answers and the phone goes to discontinued and the line goes dead. Drove in from Cambridgeshire and arrived at 10:55pm to a deserted, bleak building. Knocked in the front, back and side doors (greasy/ dirty glass), rang the reception countless times, absolutely nothing. Doors greasy, building black and depressing. I frightened the rats around the back area rummaging through the litter in the area when I came back into the area doing a circuit of the building looking for a door with a light that might be suggestive of a reception area. A resident came down for a cigarette and let me in to a greasy smelling stairwell with a dark room to the side that opens into the cafe area, so no visible reception there. There was no way to get into the paid for room so I was left having to book last minute accommodation at another nearby motel. Not what you want after a long journey but honestly relieved after seeing the state of the place. Avoid.

Check-in was smooth, and the evening staff were particularly welcoming and helpful. Dinner was also very enjoyable, and the quality of the food stood out. The property itself is quite large, which may contribute to some of the upkeep challenges. However, throughout the property the carpets appeared worn and in poor condition, and the upholstery in the restaurant was also noticeably tired and in need of refurbishment. While nothing felt unclean, the overall impression was that the interiors would benefit from a refresh. Breakfast, however, was less satisfactory. There appeared to be some issues with organisation, as basic items such as plates, tumblers for juice, and tissues were not readily available. Although staff were responsive when asked, it would have been preferable for these to be set up in advance. Additionally, the food took quite a long time to arrive, despite there being only three of us. On a positive note, the room was exceptionally spacious—large enough to accommodate up to five people. The main bed was even larger than a super king and extremely comfortable. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning, particularly given the friendly staff and comfortable accommodation.

The room we stayed in needs a bit of tlc (mainly in the bathroom), however in terms of the size of the room generally it was decent enough and clean (don't think we could have done more than one night) The restaurant has a good variety of food and drinks (dinner / lunch) and the app is useful for ordering. Breakfast was ok at best. Seem to have few staff working and the cooked breakfast was a bit hit and miss. They could probably do with refreshing the continental breakfast bar menu as there was little on it and was fairly basic.

Bathroom wasnt clean. This wasnt dealt with and Hotel apparently unprepared to do anything about this. Added to this I paid £18 for breakfast and thry altered the times advertised so I couldnt get breakfast (I booked the place due to advertised times). The breakfast offered wasnt what was advertised either, no hot food offered (Just toast, cereal and some dodgy looking fruit). Am yet to be offered a refund on any of this yet by Expedia or the hotel (although the chap in hotel said he wpuld get breakfast refunded as I left).

I booked last minute and it was terrible. Dirty room facing a busy dual carriageway. Single glazed windows let in a lot of noise and draft. Furniture shakes when a lorry drives past. It was a local Biker night on the night I stayed so no parking and locals very unwelcoming. Bar staff extremely rude and disinterested.
