Great breakfast, great service, very friendly staff. Fabulous location, grounds and gardens.

Quite disappointing. At dinner, they forgot one of the mains, so my wife ate her meal and mine arrived 15 mins later - no compensation offered. Rooms very basic and walls so thin you can hear next door talking. Property run down

We had a lovely stay overall & really appreciated how welcoming the hotel was towards dogs, but for the price there are some details that could be improved. The grounds are beautiful & most staff very friendly, especially the blonde lady on reception. However, service was consistently very slow, particularly around food & drinks. Dinner took over an hour to arrive to the point it eventually had to be brought to my room, and bar staff often seemed confused or under-trained. There were also a number of small issues that added up. My carpet didn’t feel especially clean, the windows didn’t open so the room became very stuffy, then my key card stopped working and I got locked out. It also wasn’t made clear that rooms with dogs are only cleaned on request, meaning my dirty dinner plates sat in the room for the rest of my stay. The spa treatment was enjoyable once sorted, although my therapist initially had me booked in for the wrong treatment. I was also accidentally charged twice for my dog at checkout despite already having paid. For a hotel that markets itself so heavily as dog friendly, little touches like water bowls around the property, poo bags and dog biscuits would make a big difference. Also, please reconsider serving dog afternoon tea in metal bowls as many dogs are nervous of them. Thank you again for being so welcoming. We did enjoy our stay and hope to return, but given the cost I’d love to see a little more attention paid.

Pets are welcome in the property but if you are eating at the restaurant they will ask you to stay at the bar which is lovely. Great place to take your dog and explore the gardens.

The room was clean, unfortunately there was quite a lot of mold in the bathroom. The sleep we had wasn’t great and the beds was so comfortable that I was really looking forward to a decent night sleep. I think the hotel need to be mindful when children are being booked on and to maybe place them away from people who don’t have children. All we heard was screaming and crying all night. The staff was amazing, the food was out of this world and worth it!! I would return, just hopefully have a good night sleep if I did

The staff were very friendly, loved the history of the place. a few things could do with a bit more love, but staff told us there were plans for a spa etc. So would think about a re visit in a year in the summer.

Lovely surroundings. Inside looked rather tired - carpets old and dingy, headboard not very clean, bedside light didn’t work and tv had a dreadful signal so had to turn it off. Shower room excellent. Very limited menu in the restaurant but what I ate was good. Staff very friendly.

Dirty carpets, fan not working, paint coming off door double bed was just 2 singles push together. A very disappointing and over priced stay

Staff were very helpful and friendly; mostly locals who could help with knowledge of the area. Food nicely presented and flavourful; though dinner menu slightly restricted --- not that one wishes to see one that's too long. Wine list also a bit meagre, but those available were good.

Still awaiting reply to you as to our being charged £23 more via this website rather than what the hotel said ok Ur room cost. Bar staff lovely but only 16 and not allowed to serve alcohol!! We didn't manage to get a drink before going out. No lighting and path very dangerous going down to the Courtyard. Beautiful place just very poorly run

Lovely hotel, food great, staff really friendly, helpful and make you feel comfortable. Quiet location yet convenient for Surrey Hills
