Throughly enjoyed stay room small but adequate.. Very clean and although quite noisy been above pub notva issue with sleeping .. Girl on reception went out her way look after us fantastic service ,Throughly recommended staying ere lovely little place ideal for Durham city centre at budget price

Good points - v friendly owner - very welcoming Shower nice and powerful
Bad points - obviously over a pub you expect some noise but incredibly loud until midnight then very loud conversation just below until 4AM. Decor worn and some bits could definitely have been cleaner. Sheet was ripped. Mattress was too small for bed base so you knocked shins on bed base when squeezing around the bed The room was not much larger than the bed, there was a desk but no room for a chair. Only 2 thin pillows provided for the double bed. Brown bedding didn’t do it any favours ☹️. I think a lick of paint and some light colourful bedding /curtains would make a huge difference to cheer it up and a couple of extra pillows. Sound proofing would be a huge bonus!

The bedlinen was clean, the toilet not so clean. The owners were friendly and quickly provided tea bags and toilet roll.
Unfortunately the room we were originally assigned had no heating. We were moved to another room ,which was quiet after 11pm.
It is situated within an easy 20 minute walk into Durham centre.

Had a very enjoyable stay,, you check in at the bar in the pub. Very quick and friendly room was very clean. Stayed in room 1. Bathroom looked like it had a refurb. Only downside was no remote for the tv, but landlady said it was on order, no problem as can turn over with the buttons. Whilst having a drink in the bar we spoke to the landlady and she said she had only been there 12 weeks so was trying to get the pub back up and going after being closed for a while.

Room was a good size. Close to a Sainsburys Local and a bus stop. About 30 mins walk to train station. Pub downstairs was a wee bit noisy. Doesnt serve breakfast but you can go to Wetherspoons in the town. Nice enough for a short stay.Outside needs renovating.

Carpets were tatty and dirty, mirror was splattered in something. The bed side table was an safe with sicky back plastic on. The door to the room had clearly been forced open at some point and the key and door numbers don’t match ie I was in room 7 but keys had a fob on for room 17. The shared bathroom was dated and dirty so other than having to use the toilet I waited till I was home to shower. Yuck !

It was good for ehat i paid for the only thing was they said they had a kitchen but there was no microwave and the kitchen was essentially useless other than for getting water but no the room otherwise was fine and the location was near a Sainsbury's
