Very friendly, comfortable, and clean. Recently refurbished with up to date essentials but not loosing the 17th century feel. That is well preserved.Good size Showers and bath (not all rooms had a bath). Many local customers relaxing and chatting, and friendly show its popularity and give it a lovely atmosphere of "the good old days". Loved it.

An okay stay but would not go back. The staff were very welcoming, and there had been some effort in upgrading the rooms. While the beds and bathroom were clean, the mattresses needed replacing, water pressure addressing (useless after 1 shower), and a deep clean to carpets, walls and lighting needed. There was mould, cobwebs and layers of dust.

This is an old pub on the main Rye rd. with lots of character & old world charm. Be sure to tho win the postcode as google maps took us to the wrong place when we typed in White Hart Cranbrook. It’s actually in Newenden. Ellie at check in was adorable, she was super with anything we needed. Room was fine we got a room with 2 twin beds. Nice bathroom. Dinner was absolutely delicious I had the seafood salad with new potatoes Millie was just a delight helping us. Thank you Management for hiring lovely, polite & helpful young girls. Breakfast was fabulous. Check out is at 10… not thrilled about being so early but we just went down to breakfast at that time.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old inn. The ensuite bathroom was amazing for such an old place. Very modern, very clean with a good-sized and fully powered shower and a nice area set aside with a make-up mirror. The landlord was very friendly. A good location for walking in the countryside or visiting the many nearby homes and gardens. We'll stay there again.

Not many ‘proper’ pubs left in the UK, this place was wonderful. The staff, the service, the food, the quirkiness of a really old building - I would definitely recommend it.

Venue very inviting had very pleasant staff Room compact, no seating. Mattresses on beds need renewing, very uncomfortable. Mould in ensuite on ceiling and window. Glass in window badly cracked so didn't look safe to open. Shower power intermittent, had to wash soap off under dribble of water. Disappointing for cost, felt very down market. Breakfast was good nicely cooked and presented.
