New Hôtel Gare du Nord

New Hotel should be called “Old Hotel”. This property was very dated and the room size was very small. Most importantly there is no central AC at this location. It only offers a portable AC that isn’t strong at all so during summer it was absolutely miserable to sleep at. The furniture was very old and the sheets had stains on them. The bathroom was very small and had one small glass around the shower which meant every time you take a shower, you will wet the entire bathroom. The hotel also doesn’t provide enough towels. It only had three towels so it wasn’t enough to dry everything off. I do not recommend this hotel at all. The only perk was that it is across the street from the Gare du Nord train station. That is it.

This was a great spot, centrally located and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Fresh baked bread in the morning too! Recommend highly.

Liked: helpful staff. Accommodated requests without any fuss. Clean rooms Negatives: 1 Steps only access to the reception( about 20- 30). With luggage it is terrible walk up the stairs and no help offered for this aspect( but very helpful with other things). 2. Glass door to the toilet and the toilet is right opposite the bed. You can see the person on toilet seat. Awful and embarrassing. Suggestion for improvements: if lift cannot be installed hotel should provide the help to bring the luggage up the stairs. Change the glass door to the toilet with an opaque door.

Clean, but hot and noisy. Positives first; it was clean. Sadly that was the only positive. Negatives; The AC didn't work because the universal AC remote wasn't keyed in to the system so the only option was cool/heat the room to 24 or turned off. The door blocked so little noise that the excited Americans who went through the door 10 times around 11pm guaranteed everyone in the vicinity woke up. Also, the curtain was proud of the wall so it let in loads of light. If you can sleep through heat, noise and light this is the hotel for you!

It was very hot at night… No air conditioning in the room, however I asked for a fan and it was provided.

The reason to stay at this hotel is location, location, location. It is hard to get closer to the station. On top of it, there is a person at the desk all the time, and the rooms are clean and safe, albeit small. I would not hesitate to use them again when coming in or out of Gare du Nord.

The hotel is small, no breakfast materials, and it has the tiniest lift in Paris. The room was fine but small. Thankfully, the Gare du Nord is across the road, and that’s why we stayed. Tiny bathroom. Despite that, it was fine. Thank you.

Convenient hotel since very close to the station

The most helpful person we encountered in our entire time in the city of Paris was the yong man who checked us in. He gave us a map and instructions to get everywhere we needed to go. He helped us understand the Metro system. I also loved th eloction being close to the train and the Metro station. I would not have a problem staying hter again.

Room is clean, staff is nice

The hotel was just across the road from Gare du Nord, so very convenient. However, it was very cramped in communal areas. No kettle provided in room. A spiral staircase up to rooms, or a small lift. Only a tiny side room for use as a ‘lounge’, with kettle, teabags and microwave. We didn’t have breakfast, but could see that it was served downstairs, accessed by small lift and spiral staircase. Our room was fine, with shower room and separate loo. But the room which contained the toilet was tiny - could hardly shut the door!

Very convenient from Train Station. Transportation is conveniently available from the hotel. Only complaint is that the balding old man who’s working at the front desk at night (Apr 27-28 2026) was rude and was a complete snob. The rest of the staff were very friendly and accommodating – kudos to them!

Steps to Gare du Nord that my room overlooked, the room was quiet and windows seemed sound-proof. Simple room with bed, desk, and private shower; adequate and rate seemed reasonable. Convenient hub to hop on RER and metro; even caught the sunrise at nearby Sacracoeur. Perfect for someone who spends little time in the room and wants a comfortable, simple stay. Will return.

The rooms were very clean and they put our rooms right next to each other. The location was literally right next to the train station and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants. The staff spoke English proficiently and it made check in/out very simple. They did have an interesting policy of giving the front desk person your key each time you left the property. I have never had to do that before. Someone was always there so I didn’t have any issues accessing my room, but it was still different. Overall a lovely experience for our rather large family trip! (2 family rooms: 6 adults, 1 child)

We booked a stay at the New Hôtel Gare du Nord but on arrival were told we were to be lodged in a hotel around the corner: the Hotel Richmond. The rooms were tiny and did not have a fridge. The air-conditioner was controlled by the front desk staff, so we couldn't switch it from heating to cooling without dealing with the front desk, and they found it difficult to make the change without multiple attempts and a reboot of their system. The front desk withheld our room cards when we left the hotel, but were lax in checking details when we returned. I got the feeling that anyone would wander in, give a random room number, and be given the door card for the room. My daughter left some personal items in the room, and when I contacted the hotel about this, they ignored any messages through Expedia and elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel.
