Fabulous food & service in a great location. The breakfast options are excellent and the meal we had in the Leopard Bar was wonderful. Although it's situated at the top of a hill, it's within a 15 minute walk from the centre of St Peter Port or 5 minutes from the bus stop nearest Candie Gardens

Our only complaint was that we had booked a room with a sea view but didn’t get one. When we raised this the hotel said they would have one available for us the next day. They were true to their word but we didn’t like the room so ended up staying where we were. The hotel was lovely, breakfast fabulous and the staff were all amazing and so friendly. We will definitely be returning sometime in the future.

The property was well located. It was beautifully appointed. Our room was cosy and comfortable. Staff were amazing. Food was out of this world, the choice of dinner menu was extensive and cooked beautifully. Cant fault this brilliant hotel!

The hotel staff were very good at accommodating us for an extra night at short notice due to travel disruption. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and we ate in the hotel restaurant 3 nights out of our 4 night stay. Our room itself for 3 of the 4 nights was large and well appointed but it was described by expedia as a 'deluxe room, king bed, sea view'. However, you could only see a very tiny area of sea, through a huge tree, by standing on the edge of the outside terrace and looking at a 90` angle. Our view was actually the roof of the restaurant and this was disappointing. We feel the description of this room as having a sea view is inaccurate. We had a much better view of the sea from the room 'sea view double' we booked for the extra night but this was a much smaller room.

Staff very great and food in the restaurant very good and lovely setting. Patio area needs some attention/cleaning of the floor but this maybe due to the water shortage. The room we had on the first floor road side is a little dated but the biggest issue is there are stairs/steeps from/to bedroom and bathroom. There are steps for different levels in most areas which is not known. Showers over baths are not as good as a free standing shower unless of course you want a bath. The shower in room 107 was okay but we had over spray around the toilet and floor. Food was most excellent and enjoyed discussing the specials with the chef. Great service and friendly staff. Front desk most pleasant and attentive. Would highly recommend the hotel but need to highlight the stairs/steps around the hotel

We had a great 3 day get away. Well located in St Peter’s Port. If you are getting the bus from the airport, there are buses, but it is an up hill walk. However a taxi was £17. Great menu with daily specials. Service and staff were great.

Above all, the staff make the Duke of Richmond a lovely stay. They are genuinely friendly and service is impeccable. I cannot praise the staff high enough!! The hotel itself is lovely and the room we had was extremely spacious and well equipped... even with writing paper, staples, post its etc. We were greeted with iced biscuits and a handwritten welcome note. The beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent. My son loved the heated pool which he used every day. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. The hill to get here from town is a big one and factored in to how we planned our days out. It also meant that by the time we returned we couldn't face heading down the hill again for dinner so took the convenient option of dining in the restaurant. This worked well and the food was delicious. All in all a great stay and we'd stay here again if in the area.

What an amazing start we have had, from the extremely comfortable and large bed with pillows that were so divine we've never had a better night's sleep. So much so, will be trying to source them back home! Staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was lovely too. Will definitely be back and won't hesitate to book again.

The hotel is on a top of a hill so its a bit of a walk back from the Port but is located well for gardens and local museum. The hotel is looking a little tired, and our room was very dark. Might look chic but it not good trying to do makeup and hair! We had a room with a terrace which was sold as having sea views but unfortunately the trees blocked any view of the coast. There is also a high step from the room on to the terrace which i kept catching my shin on. The staff were fabulous except the white guy on the desk who couldnt multitask or crack a smile the whole week. Food was amazing as was the service. Pool area very cramped with the old issue of people reserving loungers and not using them. Nice stay and break away.

Nice property, close to town, staff were friendly and willing to help. We booked a harbour view room with Expedia and asked about the VIP room upgrade on check-in however the upgraded room was run down and no view and dark. When we asked for the original room w/ harbour view, it was 100 times better, bright and nice views... Staff in general are all very friendly and polite - all from Africa with great manners, care, and willingness to help.
