The hotel was very clean, the room had recently been redone, the air-conditioning was silent, and the room was very quiet. However, it’s a very sketchy neighborhood.

Probably the best hotel room I have stayed in for a long time - everything was well designed, thought through and well maintained. The only fault I could find (and I’m very fussy) was that you had to unplug the fridge to plug the kettle in … otherwise perfect! Oh - and loved the old style elevator - even if the customers were hopeless at shutting the door properly so the staff had to keep running up and down the stairs to sort it out !!

Super convenient location as I was traveling solo and using the train as a mode of transportation. Hotel super charming, with European flair, at the same time modern. Front desk staff were super attentive. Breakfast food was wonderful, varied and very fresh. My room was very large and overlooking the hotel sign so very cute, but a bit noisy if you are a light sleeper as you are on a busy intersection. It didn’t bother me. The cuteness of the hotel, the location, and value were all very worth it. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Close to the main station, the metro and other public transport, and walkable to the main tourism locations. Lovely well-conserved late 19th century building. I had a spacious high-ceilinged room in traditional style with a mosaic patterned floor. The hotel lift is a wonderful piece of century-old engineering, which works most of the time - and will probably be fine by the time you read this.

The breakfast was actually disappointing. I booked this hotel based on the reviews regarding the breakfast. Buffet was very haphazard. The scrambled eggs were awful. First morning they were cold, next day lukewarm so I gave up on them after that. Tea was never hot and I do like boiling hot water for my tea, but that was not to be. Very poor selection of pastries etc. Based on my experience, unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. Several of the staff at breakfast could have been a little more welcoming towards their customers. Although breakfast finished at 10.30, they were clearing up all around us at 9.45. This made us feel quite uncomfortable.

Really close to the train station, so it was easy to get too. I had mentioned that we were put in a handicap accessible room that was not the room we booked on-line. There was no natural light as you're basically below the roof line of the restaurant that in on site. For an HC accessible room the shower was tiny, no chance someone in a WC is getting in that shower. The room itself was big, we had plenty of room to put our things and move around with no issues. That room is also next to all the housekeeping storage so you'll hear it in the morning, every morning, and they like to store the housekeeping cart right outside the door. In fairness I did bring up the small bathroom in my check-in review and they did offer to move us, we had already unpacked from the night before so we declined to move. The spa looked amazing, we went to check it out and had a tour but decided not to use it. The roof top lounge connected to the hotel was the saving grace, it was a nice oasis that not many people used. There are also two hot tubs up there, which can be weird if you're in the hot tub and people are sitting have a drink in the afternoon. Rooms where pretty clean, if you look close you'll see where it could have been better maintained. If I were to go back to Genoa I would probably book the Hilton next door, they are sister properties so you have the same spa and roof top. Not bad, just wish we would have got the style room we booked and not the HC accessible "dungeon".

Beautiful boutique hotel... gorgeous old elevator, nice staff, INCREDIBLE SHOWER. Maybe the best I've ever been in. Great restaurants nearby... my only warning is that walking to the port or the old city center you have to go through some real rough looking areas. First time I was ever scared in Italy. That was a bummer.
