This was a fantastic wooden cabin with an amazing view of Lake Toya over pretty garden flowers from the small balcony and large bathtub with huge window. Trees blocked the view of the fireworks but you can see those from the parking lot just steps away. We had two single beds downstairs and our daughter had her own bed in a mezzanine up a slightly scary ladder. Mattresses were a bit too hard for my liking (we have luxury firm at home). Toilet was in a lovely wooden room, with heated seat and very warm cleaning jets, with sink in a separate area between toilet and bathroom. Shower was available in same room as the tub, you just let it wash all over the floor, which drains after. There was a fridge and kettle with tiny cups, and a two person sofa and table, which were useful as there wasn’t much floor space to open our luggage. Breakfast is at a time you designate, either and incredible Japanese bento box (composed of miso soup, rice, and varied different smoked fish, composed vegetable salad, meat salad and tofu each day) or western (a variation each day of eggs, bacon, white toast, vegetable (including burdock root one day), Mac and cheese, salad) and both came with a different fruit after. All delicious and home made, I ate all of my bento box despite only eating oatmeal at home! Owner was very friendly with limited English but was able to communicate by pointing and/or translate app.

This is a family owned and run operation that is about 2 miles away from the Toyako Onsen area. We preferred this and loved the quietness of it. The view was nothing less than spectacular. The attention to detail of the different courses for the meals served was first rate. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area

The log cabin lodge is run by Sasaki San and his mum. Lovely people. The place was clean and very quiet. All we heard were the birds and great view of the lake. Sunset made the island shine and a rainbow to appear. Since the cabin is surrounded by nature, just keep the insect screens in place when the verandah doors are open and all is good. We took the meal package as it was well rated. It was more than we expected. The steak was surely the highlight - juicy and tender. Best I’ve had so far - local A5. The corn soup was made with just farm bought corn that morning and local milk - the natural sweetness came through with no added sugar. Attention to fresh ingredients is amazing. It was a lovely stay, highly recommended if you want to experience staying in a log cabin.

Interesting log cabin architecture. Gorgeous new bathrooms with sunken soaking tubs and nice smelling toiletries. Upstairs bed loft was a little dusty but otherwise comfortable. Included Omakase breakfast and special Wagyu set dinner were delicious and well worth it. Proprietors were super friendly and helpful.

A great stay - slightly quirky but a welcome change from large “tour group” hotels. Fabulous views over the lake from your room. Great breakfast

Our stay was relaxing and right off the main road before reaching Toyako. The cabin was very nice and a good size. The food was excellent and the owner very accommodating. If you are looking for a place in town, where you can walk from your room to along the boardwalk and visit shops, this might not be for you. It's a short drive to the town. But, there is no need to go into town for dinner - the owner is a wonderful cook. Also, the location is private and quiet, with a great view of the lake from our room. The large bathtub also looks out over the lake. We would have liked to spend more than 2 nights here, but the Owner does not rent the cabins on Wednesdays to allow for a thorough cleaning.

Property is a 10 minute drive away from the heavily touristed area. Perfect for us. The hosts are wonderful and the food is amazing. We got the half board (dinner and breakfast) for four. Amazing. Cabins are all built using huge logs. A tad rustic but with amazing soaking tub plus modern toilets. We stayed in summer. No A/c but temps were cool. Highly recommend and would stay again.
