Old hotel, spacious rooms but not that clean.

お部屋から海と朝日が一望できてとても良かったです。 朝ごはんも色々選ぶことができ、満足しています。 ただ、ホテルから、あるいはホテルへの移動の際、シャトルバスの時間が限られているのがとても不便でした。

Room booked had good amenities and great ocean view! Onsen was very clean and great location to the beach and shrine.

Nice hotel with convenient transportation and good service.

Overall it’s good hotel and near to beach . We can enjoy Sunset or sunrise here .

Very good hotel

Had a private beach and beautiful seaviews. Our room was very spacious and cleaned daily with water, tea, coffee replenished. Balconies were small with only standing room. There were not many options for outdoor seating as the are overlooking the beach was closed on an evening. We had food included which was great as only one restaurant nearby which didn’t look great and was fully booked. Air conditioning in room was good but this wasn’t in the corridor. Shuttle bus was great. Food in the restaurant catered mainky to Japanise but did have beef, spaghetti, fries and a few other western items. We enjoyed our stay!

Our room smelled like pee

We recently stayed at the Shimoda Prince hotel. The staff is excellent, the hotel is showing its age, and a bit run down. I was disappointed they charged for almost everything including beach towels. The beach was nice.

The pool is for kids and there are no reclining chairs. We couldn’t eat any food around the pool. I sent two messages but there were no answers. We are very disappointed in the food situations around the hotel.

I was amazed with the whole property my kids really enjoy playing in the pool also the beach. And the whole are is clean everywhere❤️

Our room, a combination of Western and Japanese styles, had a persistent odor that charcoal and air freshener only temporarily masked. The Western beds, consisting of a box spring and mattress topper, were uncomfortable and caused back pain. While the view was excellent, the food in the main dining room was mediocre; the steamed snapper, in particular, was overpoweringly sweet and salty due to an unbalanced soy sauce and sugar mixture.

Nice and relaxing

Upon arrival, we asked the front desk staff to reserve a second night for us. We showed her the Hotels.com rate for this booking at $116. We asked her if she could match this offer... otherwise we would have used the Hotels.com website to book it (and would have changed rooms if need be in order to take advantage of the Hotels.com rate). She quoted us at $120 for the second night, based on this info. We took her at her word. Upon checkout, we were billed $166 for the second night (instead of the $120 quoted to us the day before). Also, we asked for a taxi to take us to the metro station upon checkout. Just before the taxi arrived, the Hotel shuttle bus pulled up to take departing guests to the metro station-- for free. The staff who called the taxi could have easily (and therefore should have) mentioned their shuttle was arriving at that same time. This happened immediately after we were charged extra for the second night's stay. Notably, this was not a language barrier issue. We emailed the hotel's corporate offices to address these concerns- they still have not yet replied. Also notably, the gift shop staff were very sweet.
