In Volendam, you cannot do better than Art Hotel Spaander. The rich surroundings, absolute comfort and extra extraordinary SPA made this a trip with remembering. The restaurant with the sea view is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. The hotel itself is quiet, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Like many places in Europe it could make improvements to handicap accessibility. If you arrive after dark the address takes you to a closed up street of shops, and the entrance and parking you want is around the block on the ocean side.

The staff are not very friendly and especially to independent travellers as the hotel is geared to large groups. There are rules about only being allowed 2 sachets of coffee in the room then you have to buy more. There is a lift but only to certain areas, not all rooms are accessible by lift, which is not good as it appears that most guests are elderly. Breakfast not available to those not travelling in a group. Area out the back in the area that you go through to the car park is an accident waiting to happen with tools and cables strewn around untidily (see photo)

Tiny room view to courtyard. Staff behind desk, if you can find them, unhelpful. On arrival no info was given and there’s no info in the rooms. Breakfast supposed to start at 7 am weekdays , wasn’t ready till 0730. Breakfast in, nice view. Beds comfy. Bathroom rediculous. Small unpractical not fit for purpose. Would never return

The location was amazing. It is along the water, has restaurants and markets nearby, and this place has a pool. It was incredibly safe, room was clean and staff very friendly. I am not giving a higher score because it can get loud at times. It is nearby a church, I think, and we could hear bells.

Staff is very friendly. Hotel is nice local business. Room is a nice size as is the bathroom. Bathroom needs towel racks, however. Room has outside patio which is nice but it was very dirty and needs to be cleaned. Hotel is in center of town with lots of businesses nearby. Big tourist area.

This hotel was in a unique location. The streets are guarded by timed entry, which made it confusing to get to the parking. The hotel staff was helpful with this experience. The breakfast was quite costly for typical offerings, but the setting was very elegant. The bed was comfortable and clean.

Loved staying at Hotel Spaander! The pool is great. Breakfast was a delight. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a bike ride (rental) to Marken as well. Volendam is a beautiful place.

Lovely different hotel. A bit confusing as you walk in because the fake reception has a female mannequin but the building has a lot of character. The breakfast is ok. Didn’t use the spa and the village is absolutely lovely and only a 20ish mins bus ride into Amsterdam

At first I was a little worried as building had scaffold outside, But once inside it was a lovely hotel. Staff very friendly. Check in completed quickly. Room was clean and comfortable and no noise from anywhere. 2 minute walk from sea front. Recommended

This is a fantastic property in a near perfect location (when its sunny!). Rooms and bathrooms are quite small and tend to get very humid even after a short shower. Property is also very difficult to get to if you are driving from the south and using google maps. Best to ask the hotel or drive to the north side of the city and drive in on the ocean side road.
