My stay at Hotel Molino was wonderful. It was a getaway-within-a-getaway, a break from the hustle and bustle and constant movement of site-seeing and hiking in the bigger cities of Peru. The setting is gorgeous. Wonderful views and an amazing garden plus chic architecture make the Hotel Molino simply a gorgeous place to stay. The proprietor, Holmes, is fluent in English and Spanish and goes above and beyond for his guests, resulting in a feeling that is more similar to a homestay than a night at a hotel. Holmes's three dogs live on the property and are absolutely adorable. They're all very friendly and interested in the guests. The only thing that I will note to travelers is that the Hotel Molino is located in a very hard-to-find area, and none of the local taxi drivers seem to know where it is. On the Expedia page there is a simple map showing the main highway and a marker where the hotel is. Do not drive on the highway until you are parallel to the marker and expect to find a dirt road branching perpendicularly. In fact, the real road you need to take is unmarked and branches from the highway much earlier than expected, maybe five or seven minutes outside of Ollantaytambo. I'd advise calling Holmes on WhatsApp when you reach Ollantaytambo and let him talk to your driver, if you're going by taxi.

I highly recommend staying here. The staff are all completely focused on providing an amazing experience. Juana (chef) packed us a picnic lunch to enjoy at Machu Picchu. Moses (driver) was extremely accomodating with our requests to go places and doubled as a "guide", taking time to pull over for picture taking and show us points of interest along the way. Magdalena (hostess) kept in tegular contact with us and coordnated all of our wishes. We even got to meet Holmes (owner) and learned about the history of and future plans for El Molino. Overall great experience!

Hotel Molino is a lovely setting but it is a distance from Ollantaytambo (and many taxi drivers don't want to take you there). Hot water was iffy and the food was okay. Lovely if you want to be away from everything but not ideal for the average tourist.

This is a wonderful quiet oasis. It is located outside of town so everything requires a taxi. We were exploring the Sacred Valley so needed a taxi anyway. Staff were excellent in helping us plan and arranging rides and tours. Magda even went to the train station with me to get tickets and helped with Machu Picchu pass. The meals were excellent and the night sky was stunning If they offer to pick you up, say yes. Most taxi drivers did not know where this place was and it was up a long rough gravel/grass drive
