There are several hotels in the same area, but I chose Amara because it seemed to offer the largest rooms in the area. The room we got was fairly large and so was the bathroom which was great. After a day of sightseeing we came back to the room where both of us can rest spaciously in our own sweat before taking a shower. We booked like 6 months in advance and got a real good price per night. I thought they would up-sell us to lounge access when we checked in, but they didn't. That was fine as I don't think I could eat/drink enough to cover the extra amount. For breakfast we simply went next door to the 1PM mall and had kava toast for like $4 SGD. (We skipped the set combo as we didn't want to slurp the runny eggs thing). The location of this hotel is great as there is a grocery market across the street. The only issues I had were the towels and perhaps the cleaning. For a supposedly 5 star hotel, the towels were pretty rough and scratchy. They should be replaced. I had better towels in 2 star motels. Also we really enjoyed that when we indicate electronically for room cleaning, it was done within 2 hours, but they need to do a better job of cleaning. I moved the helpful magnifying vanity mirror in the bathroom to shave, and I got dust on my hands. Clean the back of it, it was so dusty! Overall, it was a great place to stay, and we would stay here again.

I had stayed here a month previously and been really impressed. However, things were not up to scratch this trip - the "24 hour" room service failed to pick up the phone for 15 minutes so exhausted, hungry and jet lagged I went down to the front desk to place an order who took me into Element Restaurant for them to take my order. They assured me the food would be up very shortly. An hour later, no food and still no one answering room service - went back down to restaurant and they had completely forgotten to put in my order! Another night later in the week was sat at the bar waiting to order a drink and food - 3 staff made eye contact but then carried on with their stock take and talking amongst themselves instead of coming to serve me, very rude.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The breakfast buffet is flawless. The neighborhood is the best in Sing. The staff are so attentive and friendly.

Great neighborhood with lots of restaurants

Really satisfied with this stay. The area is lively and walkable to the metro, many restaurants, cafes, and hawker centers. The hotel room is spacious, clean and zen. Shower pressure is remarkable and the toilet has its own room, which is nice. If there’s a downside the lobby is part of a bar/cafe and many tables were marked as “Reserved” so you’re not sure if you’re allowed to sit in them. it feels like it’s available to the public and not exclusive to hotel guests. The gym is also minimal but adequate to get some workout in. Overall highly recommended for the price point as well. The rooms

Terrible check-in experience which took 20 mins. Seemingly no rooms available at 1945 of the calibre booked (and pre-paid). Very reluctantly upgraded but only after refusing to split my stay across 2 rooms

My wife and two daughters and I stayed at the hotel for four nights and truly enjoyed Singapore. Adhraf, concierge, gave us excellent suggestions for our four day stay from eating places, sites to see etc. On the business side of the hotel, Raymond was excellent and also helped us with restaurants etc. There are two of them certainly added to a wonderful stay at the hotel. Also, the hotel is located in the middle of several restaurants which really makes it easy to go out and eat and not take a long time getting to the restaurant. Excellent food!

Best location connected with public transport. Nice place and service was authentic. I would recommend this place
