The hotel is well located for the port and town, and it’s a solid Best Western, upper three stars in my view. Comfortable rooms of fair size, nice and modern. Obviously very clean rooms and all working like in Sweden.
But there were several problems with the service. For checkin there was a long line and only one lady at the desk, who had trouble finding my booking (the self checkin machine didn’t work). Usually there was one person at the desk and sometimes nobody.
The worst thing is that when we asked what time breakfast starts, the lady said 6:30 am. So as we had a ferry to catch, she oriented as to order a packed breakfast. coming downstairs just before 6 am, we were shocked that breakfast was already being served. This means that because of the incorrect information from that lady, we missed breakfast, and I should get compensation for that.
On the other hand, when I told her that I had taken the souvenir sheep from the room to add to my bill, she did nothing and did not charge me…

The location was superb. We were able to walk everywhere in Visby and were very close to the ferry back to Nynashamn.

The hotel was well placed just outside City walls. The room was OK but no hot water in sink although the shower was fine. Reception not very professional but breakfast very good. Room clean and comfortable but paint work on walls scuffed and could have been easily cleaned. All in all OK but not special.

It is a bit run down (hallway carpets and hardwood floors). Good breakfast. Curious that there was only a hand soap dispenser in the bathroom: no shampoo or conditioner. We had to purchase them at the ICA nearby.

They tried to take 200 kr more than promised in the booking and then thought we had a dog staying with us (which then would cost 200 i assume?) but they corrected it when I showed the booking details in the app. The rest of the stay was good. 👍

Friendly helpful staff at reception. If you get there in time free parking right outside. If you come later, a fee for guarded p in the backyard. Got a room in a separate house with a garden. It has plenty of tables and chairs for guests. If weather allows you can have breakfast on the terrace outside. Hotel is right at the medieval wall around Visby.

The Pros:
1. location, location, location! An easy if uphill walk from the ferry terminal, across the street from the medieval walls, and a fantastic view down to the water.
2. The breakfast! Wow! All the usual continental fixings plus some really lovely surprises: coconut and chia seed pudding, mango/coconut/curry salad, and more
3. Sparkling clean
The cons:
1. The water pressure is a little low but nothing unexpected from an older building
2. The rooms are slightly dated/oddly decorated but again nothing unexpected or off-putting
3. Yeah, there aren’t many - it was a stretch to find two!

Great location, helpful staff and a very comfortable extra bed in the room. Other hotels only offer cots or pull out sofas but this was a very comfortable way to share a room with my parents without suffering through the night.
