I had the most pleasant stay here. The stuffs are very warm, nice and helpful. Good facilities for cheap price accommodation. The room is clean. Breakfast is standard but kitchen has all the basics you need, I.e microwave oven, stove, refrigerator and utensils, so you can cook your meal by yourself any time. Bathroom is clean with hot water. Easy to reach, location is beyond amazing. It’s about 2-3 minutes walk from Interlaken Station West. I've got a free transportation card to go around Interlaken. Recommended for solo or couple traveller.

I had a great experience at this hostel. It’s located in such a nice area, with a beautiful small river infront. There is a nice small common area to hang out and the facility was overall clean and tidy.

Staff are so kind. Check in was great! We stayed one night as a jump off place for the Lauterbrunnen valley and Murren.we were also returning 3 days later and they held our bags for us and had them already in our room when we returned. This allowed us to travel extremely light with only the gear we needed for hiking.

Staff are so kind. Check in was great! We stayed one night as a jump off place for the Lauterbrunnen valley and Murren.we were also returning 3 days later and they held our bags for us and had them already in our room when we returned. This allowed us to travel extremely light with only the gear we needed for hiking.

The view from our room was beautiful of the river and mountains and sunset. This felt like a hotel but was a hostel in that we had shared bathroom, shower, kitchen and dining rooms. The roof terrace and dining areas were exceptional. The daily brunch was wonderful! Prices are higher in Switzerland so we chose a smaller room & spent most of our time outside.

The location is convenient to the train station & to stores & restaurants.
The very best part of your stay will be breakfast. It’s a lovely feast with many options & everything is fresh & flavorful. Thanks for a very nice visit.

An economical lodging option in a convenient location, walkable to Main Street and the train station. I never had to wait to use the common bathrooms, which was great. The rooms aren’t very well insulated, so you can hear some noise from other rooms and the hallway, but it was quiet at night.

Good stay for the price but it was difficult to sleep in. Very creeky bunk beds that unless you have have earplugs and are a deep sleeper, It'll be hard to get a good rest. I would stay again if options are limited or if a quick 1 night budget stop.

Stay was wonderful. Got a single room and it works just fine for 2 nights. My only complain is that in the shared kitchen, they dont seem to maintain it. No dish washing soap and the sinks were all clogged for a hostel. No one seems to care about it.

The Guy at Check in on 23 December made me wait for 30 minutes before he dealt with me. He was serving two Swiss locals with Cocktails and talking to them, knowing that I was waiting.
The Check in tablet was not working and he had to check me in, in the end. Terrible service. He needed a good shake and a kick up the derrière. Gormless, totally useless.
Outside of Alplodge is old, dated, needs painting white again. It's a dirty grey colour at present. The Hostel room itself was small, crampt and with 6 people in it, it was overcrowded. Very small, Felt like I had stepped back in time to 1980. I wish to complain about one of the Owners Rui who refused to refund a two unused nights due to a family emergency. This was very unsympathetic. I have raised a Chargeback and my Bank will simply take the funds from Alplodge's Bank. I am happy to cancel the Chargeback upon receiving a two night refund from Rui.

Very old building with what seems like original fixtures that need replaced. Sink drips, lights are very dim, floor creaks with every step of yours and other guests around you, spiders/bugs everywhere. No person at reception or signage telling you where to go to check in, even after checking in online still had to go through a tablet based check in that I already completed. Cost per night is ridiculous for what you get.

I had a great experience at this hostel. The atmosphere was very social, and I enjoyed sharing and speaking with the other guests. The kitchen and dining hall were lovely, fully equipped, and became the main place where people spent most of their time. The key card system was also fantastic. My only minor issue was that there was often a queue for the showers, so a smoother system there would have made the stay even better.
