The Hotel Baslertor is located in the beautiful town of Muttenz just outside Basel. The hotel has a great staff, updated rooms, wonderful location with walkable shoppes and restaurants, and the transit system can get you anywhere quickly. Stay here when visiting Basel for a real small village swiss experience.

Very nice comfortable hotel. Great hosts, Great bed, conformable shower, Clean and good service! Super staff always willing to help out whatever you need! Recommend 1st floor, at higher levels it can get a bit warm (No airco allowed by local regulations in Muttenz). Great breakfast in COOP restaurant connected to hotel. Convenient next to COOP shop and very close to tramline 14 that leads into Basel

Most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in (pillows too). Fantastic staff were very friendly and helpful (Flourina, Tobi, Rita, and Shael). Delicious breakfasts for a good price. Adjacent to a Coop market and small bakery. 7 minutes walk to the train depot (they provide a pass for 2 to travel free within a fair radius of Muttenz which saved us a lot of money). 3 minutes to the bus. Highly recommended!

Small details like a good water pressure, fan on the room, clean, where all in order. Reasonable COOP restaurant for breakfast. Fridge, coffee, tea on the room. Good bed. Friendly staff. They think the hotel will be upgraded in the next 2 years. Convenient next to supermarket and main street Mutternz (restaurants). Pleasant, affordable business hotel.

The property is very clean. The room was large and well lit. The parking is in a shared garage which was a little tricky to locate. The parking spaces were large and has a direct entrance to the hotel. The breakfast is a pass to the CO-OP restaurant which is adjoining to the hotel.

The Baslertor Hotel was close to where our daughter and her family lives, so we booked it when we came for a family visit. It was a little confusing at first as to where to go to unload our luggage and enter the hotel at 21:15 when there was no one at the reception. Good thing we called to say that we were checking in after 21:00 and there was someone there to tell us the door code and to look for our key on the Reception Desk. We drove our car to the back door, but there was no key pad so had to go around to the front through the road construction to find the key pad to get in. Then we had to try several doors to get out again and back to our car to drive to the COOP parking garage entrance on the street behind COOP. From there we were able to enter the hotel and take the elevator up to our room which was very clean and quiet. We were so thankful for the little fan because it was so hot and difficult to sleep. We opened the windows wide and thankfully were not bothered by mosquitos. A couple of times we had difficulty connecting to WiFi because there were too many people online, but learned to scroll down the Login page to the second option to register online as a hotel guest for unlimited usage. We enjoyed the coffee making supplies for our first cups in the morning and will definitely come again when we visit our daughter and her family again!

Only 8-10 minute walk to a train station and the hotel has a grocery store built into it, which made shopping for food and snacks convenient! Staff were fantastic and rooms always clean. Only thing I wish I knew was that there was no AC in the rooms, but this seems to be common throughout Switzlerand. Overall, great hotel!

Easy to find, but because it’s right beside a roundabout you probably will drive by... saying there’s our hotel!! No panic, loads of turning areas.. would I stay again , yes.

On arrival we got a lovely friendly welcome from Ronny, who was on reception.
Ronny along with the rest of the staff were very helpful, giving us a lot of information throughout our 6 day stay.
The hotel was comfortable and exceptionally clean.
The breakfast was generous, plenty of choice, and fresh. The staff in the Co-op explained everything. The breakfast area, reached via the hotel was clean with plenty of seating. Staff very pleasant.
A very welcome extra was the free Mobility Pass, which gave us unlimited free travel in the Basel region, on Trams/Buses/Trains for the duration of our stay. Also the free bottles of water each day.
Many thanks to the hotel for making our stay a very pleasant one.
