Amazing experience. Staff was extra courteous , my parents have specific dietary requirements and they ensured all meals were customised to their liking. Pool was v clean and well maintained. Great property. For its price the service was way better. Highly recommended. !!👍👍👍

Hotel Southern Star is a wonderful place to stay while exploring the beautiful city of Mysore. The location is ideal — just a short ride away from all the main attractions, including Mysore Palace, the zoo, and the bustling Devaraja Market. Despite being close to everything, the hotel itself feels like a calm, green oasis in the middle of the city. The amenities are excellent. There are three restaurants to choose from, each serving delicious food with plenty of variety — from local South Indian dishes to continental options. The swimming pool is well-maintained and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing, and the lush garden adds a lovely touch of serenity to the property. The staff deserve special mention — they are warm, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it’s arranging transport, offering local recommendations, or simply making sure you’re comfortable, they go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. All in all, Hotel Southern Star combines comfort, great service, and convenience in one of India’s most charming cities. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mysore!

Great breakfast options but not fully set up byu 7am start time, which was tricky for me with early starts

Lovely feel and ambience. Relaxing evening by the poolside. Spacious rooms. Some of the furnishings were dated and could do with refurbishment. Walkable to city centre. Easy travel access and felt welcome throughout. Friendly helpful staff, many from the northeast.

It's a great property with ample facilities, like their health center & the pool. Bohot are really clean & well equipped. The rooms are white spacious and the breakfast was delicious with variety

The check in was a bit confused, bills were duplicated but not overcharged. Room was a bit tatty but clean and with all standard amenities. Garden was lovely. Service was good

Very friendly staff

Excellent stay. Very good service, particularly from the young lady in the travel office who was so helpful when we were having difficulty booking an Uber. We had the buffet dinner both nights and felt it good value, with wide range of foods. There’s a pool, which is nice to sit by and a daily yoga session at 7.30am. The hotel is also 12 minute walk to the Railway Museum, a peaceful place to spend an hour or so and only 50 R/s. This represents excellent value, particularly when you find the rate for foreigners to visit Mysore palace is now 1000Rs.

Everything about the hotel-the room, the ambience, the surrounding area and staff were great! The Zest retaurant in the hotel is one of the very best! Ravi, my server with a smiling face provided exceptional service to get me Alu Palak and Tandoori roti which is my favorite! The next day I had the buffet which had such a great variety and every dish was so tasty. Kudos to the chef and his team!
