Only booked this hotel as it has a waterslide and hot tub. While sitting in the hot tub I noticed the front desk worker enter the pool area and go behind a door in the pool area. I could feel cold water coming out from the jets and then it went back to normal. She comes around and asks if the hot tub feels fine. I explain I felt cold water and she says she did something. Couldn’t quite understand as English was her second language. But smell of chemical or chlorine or bromine or whatever was strong enough to irritate my eyes. When we got back the room by wife hung up her swim suit and soon after noticed her swim suit was ruined, bleached or something from the chemical in the hot tub. In the morning went to let front desk know. Front desk employee said the manager would be in at 3 pm and would contact is as we were checking out. Now as of 10:32 pm still no call from manager.

We enjoyed our stay at Super 8. The hotel was nice and the waterslide and breakfast was good. We're always happy to find waffles available for breakfast. The hot tub had cold water when we tried going in it, as cold or colder than the pool, so that was pretty disappointing though. The theme rooms looked like they'd be cool, though not worth the extra cost to us. When we went they were giving out a free appetizer coupon with purchase of a meal at Mr Mike's. Unfortunately we had gone and ate there first before checking in because we were hurrying to eat, check in and swim so weren't able to use the coupon.

The hotel was quiet and affordable. The staff were kind and easy to communicate with. A/C in the room was fantastic and the beds were clean. It was definitely a dated hotel that could use some much needed renovations (shower was bubbled, paint was chipping, water damage to baseboards). The pool did not have easily accessible towels and the hot tub was slightly warmer than luke warm. Overall it was a good stay and we would return due to the location and reasonable cost.

Was nice to have a hottub but it wasnt very warm and the slide was chaotic with many children acting in unsafe ways but not addressed by the hotel despite the area being on camera for everyone's safety. Room was okay but had left wet towel from previous guests hanging in our room and the hotel over all didnt have a very clean feeling. Pool area was very dirty. Will be making the trip again in 3 weeks and will be chosing to go with a different hotel in the area.

Hot tub was lukewarm warm, no towels at the pool, internet was poor. If you need to download you will need to do it elsewhere…the themed room was fun for the kiddo, breakfast was well stocked

We arrived in our room smelling of cat urine, and when we went into bed we found dirty bedding covered in bodily fluids. We were not allowed to switch rooms and were not able to have the carpet cleaned during our stay. Very dissatisfied. The pool was lovely however for our kiddo and the staff was polite although not accommodating of a refund or room move.

Breakfast was ok except the coffee. Big yellowish/ greenish stain on one of our sheets. We requested for room service but they didn’t even changed the sheets. Staff were not friendly.

Besides the lobby, the queen room we stayed in was dated (probably original). Baseboards cracked and peeling, old cabinets and tubs, furniture seems old but I will say the beds are comfortable. The screen in the window was completely broken, causing the window not to shut completely. The air conditioner didn’t work. The freezer in the fridge was completely frosted. My girls went to the pool and said there was black mold on the stairs and pieces of something floating in the actual pool. The hot tub was only half full of water Breakfast was nothing to write home about with the basics of cereal, toast, waffles, some apples and oranges and a couple of yogurts. Definitely a continental type of breakfast. I will not be staying here again.

This hotel needs a renovation. We stayed in a double queen regular room. Bathroom features warped soggy baseboards and wall patches without paint. It smelled musty like an old building. Elevator had nondescript red stains near the buttons on the carpet. Signs are on the hotel read, “ doors locked at 11pm for staff safety “, and the liquor store next door painted a picture of a less than safe location. The breakfast area wasn’t staffed with someone wiping tables, etc. The lobby had boxes of stuff in it and looked like a shipping/recieving centre. My kids noted that it wasn’t a very welcoming environment and it reminded them of an old office. Pool opened at 10, which was a bit late to get a swim in before leaving. So it was cheap, we slept, and were motivated to get back on the road. Don’t know about other hotels in Castlegar, but I’d probably try a different one next time.

The complimentary breakfast did not offer scrambled eggs or bacon or sausage as options. Only toast, waffles maker and hard boiled eggs. Building seems a bit run down and could use an upgrade. Door to room gets stuck and room not really clean. Supposed to be pet free in some rooms but our had pet hair in some places. A smell seems to emanate from the air conditioning when on.

I would stay here again. The front steps to the hotel are on a bit of a downhill slope and I tripped walking out one day heading to the Safeway next door. I was able to regain my footing but something to think about for others. The parking isn't the best with Mr. Mike's next door but we were always able to find a spot when coming back to the hotel
