I'm not going to lie... our hotel experience was the worst I've ever had.
We arrived to find a man living in his vehicle throwing bottles near my Jeep. The pool was closed for renovations, there was no complimentary breakfast despite it being advertised, and the A/C in our room blew nothing but hot air while it was over +30°C all weekend.
After a late-night Walmart trip for fans, we discovered almost none of the outlets worked. I had originally booked a king room, but was switched to two tiny "queen" beds at the same price. My son and I had to share one bed beside the only working outlet so we could plug in the fan just to make the room bearable. The shower was broken, the fridge didn't keep food cold, and during last night's tornado watch the power went out, making the room unbearable.
When I asked hotel staff to fix the A/C, move us, or even open a window, I was met with a very snarky "no." At 10:30 p.m. the room beside us was screaming, running the halls, banging walls, and slamming doors. I asked them twice to be quiet, called the front desk four times with no answer, then went downstairs only to find no staff.
To make matters worse, Expedia refused to help when I called. After years of booking through Expedia, I'll never use them again.
This was, without question, the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced.
