Staff great , great value , good standard

Kettle didn’t work. Couldn’t run a bath. Restaurant and bar closed.

We were getting an early train from Carlisle and wanted to stay close to the station the night before. This hotel is literally across the road. We had a double bed with extra single bed room for 3 of us at a total of £42. Overall the hotel is a bit dated, but beds were comfy and it was handy for plenty of restaurants and bars the night before. Breakfast started at 7am after we left, so I can't comment on it. But there was a Costa across the road which opens at 6am. Staff on check in and check out we're lovely and friendly. We had a great night's sleep and were ready for the journey the next day. Would absolutely stay here again Great value for what we paid.

It was difficult to find the hotel parking as we arrived at night, but OK once we got our bearings. The hotel room is huge, but looking a bit tired. I loved that I could have a bath, as this facility is missing in so many hotels now! Our room was on the street front so it was noisy from traffic, despite double glazing. The beds were very comfortable though and there was a good supply of tea, coffee etc but no teaspoons!

What a lovely place to stay ❤️ Only a 5 minute walk from the train station very friendly I stayed and took my dog the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly My room was beautiful a massive bed which my dog enjoyed 😂 The breakfast was very nice I can’t wait to go back and stay again Thank you for having us x

The room was freezing even with the radiator at the highest setting

The County Hotel is very dated but the price is usually ok.Hotel is always very clean and staff are good.

Bit old fashioned but spotless clean and staff were very nice plus got room for really good price,will definitely be back.

Very central very accommodating with our room selection comfy clean room

Rooms were very clean. staff very helpfull and friendly. Only downside was the floorboards very noisy especially at night. But overall a great time away.

Reception staff excellent

We didn’t sleep all Night because of the windows and doors rattling all night. Have emailed the hotel twice since our stay on 13/12/25 and still no response. So unprofessional. We were booked into breakfast at 10am and when er went to breakfast there was us 3 and another party of 4. There were no fried eggs, scrambled eggs, beans and bread for toast. Unacceptable

Nice clean toom helpful staff, good breakfast. Only issue is we had to pay £5 a day parking, this appears to be new. I feel that if you are staying at their hhotel parking should be free

The hotel generally is good and have stayed before with no problems, however the man on the front desk was less than interested, after I asked for assistance did not hear from him again even when I walked past the reception desk.

Great and close to the shops, I went to cinema 2mins walk, I'll be back that's for sure.

Friendly staff Parking is now charged for (was free when we booked) Rooms need some tlc but good value for money and great central location

We stay in this hotel more than 3 times a year. But unfortunately this was not very pleasant, we had a 3 night stay and no one looked in our room once. We had to ask at reception for toilet rolls and tea/coffee. We also had someone downstairs smoking in their room and the smell was coming up the vents, I know this is not the fault of the hotel. but on our last day we got up at 0600 and left the hotel as he smell was intolerable. We will be back later in the new year and hope we dont have the same experiences.
