This hotel has a great location - breakfast was very good, decent gym and the showers are excellent… We struggled to understand the 9.2 rating that other travellers had given. Staff weren’t overly helpful, the rooms were tired and a bit comedy in places eg you had to put a kettle on the floor to be near a plug. We paid for room upgrades which were an absolute waste of money- I questioned whether they were in fact upgrades as it definitely wasn’t better than the room friends had where they hadn’t upgraded (in fact theirs were better). In addition the upgrade was marketed as a set amount per stay but then charged per night. The parking cost is also more expensive paying the hotel directly than the station APCOA option. I haven’t stayed in other hotels in Windsor but if I go back I’ll try somewhere else next time.

We booked two rooms on one reservation. Not only were the rooms not beside each other, not on the same floor, they weren’t even in the same building. Also check in was so slow for some reason. Not sure why they don’t have things printed and keys ready before you get there. Otherwise it’s a decent place to stay. Some rooms are clearly nicer and newer than others. Great location. Breakfast was average but great view from the window of the river.

What a wonderful experience. Our second stay here (this time for our 26th wedding anniversary.) The staff couldn't do enough to help, absolutely brilliant. The room was amazing, this time we went for an executive king. We had beautiful views and the bed was so comfy. It was a little on the warm side but the fan provided did help. The breakfast was delicious and the dining space was impeccable. Our only v small feedback would be the bathroom could do with a refresh....but we would absolutely stay again and would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much.

Great location, nice and clean room. We had a double room with an extra bed (pull-out couch) for our toddler which worked great. Best feature of the room was probably the fancy shower with waterfall and spray. The breakfast was really good; full English and continental options plus a fresh pancake making machine. Staff was nice and they let us keep our luggage at the hotel after checkout.

Located in the heart of Windsor, the Christoper Wren has old world charm and the staff is extremely attentive and helpful. I arrived early, stored my luggage and went off to explore the town. When I returned to check in my bags had already been sent to my room. Nice touch. As it is an old hotel there are stairs to the rooms so I greatly appreciately the help with my bags. The staff at the front desk was extremely attentive and hospitable. The room was spacious, clean and charming. Enjoyed a glass of wine on the outdoor patio overlooking the river. Overall a wonderful stay. Highly recommend and I would absolutely stay again next time I am in Windsor

I only stayed 2 nights as part of a month in Europe, so case was quite heavy. There was no lift to my floor and my room was up 1 flight of stairs and then down another - it’s a lovely old building - so be prepared to take advantage of porter or request a more accessible room.

Lovely hotel with extremely friendly, courteous and welcoming staff. Our room was an Executive double which was a good size and well equipped. Fabulous rainfall shower. Bathrobes were provided. Dining room overlooking the Thames was lovely. Good food and lovely staff (Guldeep especially). All of the staff were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is in a great location, very central.

We were quite disappointed with the Sir Christopher Wren as the reception staff were very disinterested and all but unhelpful. At check in, the staff member told us we had 3 stairs to go up to our room, which was good as we had large bags pending leaving the UK the next day. What we found were many stairs in at least 4 groups - all up around 3 flights of very steep stairs. We did get help from porters by chance as we went to the room, and requested them on check out. But the check in person was either not across the hotel, or couldn’t have cared less for guests. Also, the hotel charges £15 for “24 hours” of parking at a nearby (several hundred yards away) public parking station and emails from the hotel confirm 24 hours of parking. However, we were told on check in that the paid parking was midday to midday & you can’t check in till 3. Further, the check in person - probably to fob us off - told me that as I needed parking until around 4pm on the day of check out, I should ask the staff member when I did check out if I could extend the parking (the inference we took from that was that it would likely be included in what we already paid) a few hours. However, the different person at check out told us that yes it could be extended - for a further £15! Oh & direct payment at the pay parking lot is £10.80. What a rip off! A pity as the room, when we got to it was nice up until 7am when the garbage truck was emptying bottles noisily, & the breakfast was good. Look elsewhere!

Room was very small. The safe in the room was useless to us as it was on the floor. If I at 80 had got down to operate it I wouldn’t be able to get up.

I reserved two rooms, one room had non-functioning air-conditioning and the temperatures were above 93°F. We ended up only using one room, but the staff required that we pay for both rooms even though I try to cancel and contact Expedia.

We had two rooms and both were amazing with comfortable beds. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was very tasty. It’s also a quick walk to the station that takes you to London. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Great place, just a short walk to the Castle. Good room and AC was a godsend, as it was in the 30's for the trip. Helpful & friendly staff. Very good hotel and a great stay.
