We have stayed here many times and the hotel is beautiful with lovely staff. Today 17/01/26 we were just visiting Chester for the day and called in at 12.30pm for lunch in the Brasserie. It was busy when we arrived but we were taken to a table. Even though it was busy we did not wait too long before we were given menus and then the most charming gentleman arrived at our table who I assume is the Restaurant Manager to take our order for drinks. As Chardonnay is only available to purchase in a bottle and I only wanted a glass this very nice man recommended another white wine and it was lovely. He certainly knows about wine. We ordered the beef and the chicken and it was delicious. Having just eaten far too much over Xmas I was trying to be good and not having dessert but when the lovely man came back with the menus and looked at me and said "If you like chocolate and pointed on the menu and said it is good". Diet went out the window! WOW it was good and the chocolate sauce was delicious. I wanted to lick the remaining chocolate off the plate!! A huge thank you for a lovely lunch and staff who work very hard. We will be back to stay again. If I could give 100 stars I would and definitely 10/10. Happy New Year to all the staff. Oh and forget to mention the very nice doorman who was most welcoming🙏

Came here for afternoon tea for my Mum's 50th birthday and had a great time. Although the food was fairly pricey, I understand that we're not at just 'any' hotel. The food was all of good quality and tasted great. We opted for 2 x Gentlemans and a traditional afternoon tea. The staff were attentive and asked a few times if we required anything further in terms of food, asked for allergies too which was a nice touch. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxing experience in a lovely city!

The Chester Grosvenor is an exceptional hotel that truly delivers a luxury experience from start to finish. Located right in the heart of Chester, it perfectly combines historic charm with elegant, high-end comfort. From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail and level of service make you feel genuinely welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful, with classic décor that reflects the character and history of the building while still feeling refined and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the overall atmosphere feels calm and indulgent. One of the highlights is the dining experience. The hotel’s restaurants and afternoon tea are outstanding, offering beautifully presented dishes made with high-quality ingredients. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into both the food and the service, which makes the whole experience feel special rather than just another hotel meal. The staff deserve special mention. Every member of the team is professional, friendly, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They go out of their way to make sure guests are looked after, which really adds to the overall experience. Being located in the centre of Chester also makes it perfect for exploring the city. Shops, historic streets, and attractions are all just a short walk away, which makes the hotel an ideal base for a visit. Overall, The Chester Grosvenor is a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking for luxury, comfort, and exceptional service in a beautiful historic setting. It’s the kind of place that makes your visit to Chester feel that little bit more special. ✨

The perfect hotel experience. Rooms were lovely, staff couldn't be more helpful and the food was delicious. Especially recommend the Strawberry Moulin Rouge cocktail, a great start to an evening out.

There arnt enough stars to give this hotel. We stayed for only one night only and wish we could have stayed longer. One of our party had a fall outside causing a couple of additional falls inside the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful to us, nothing too much trouble. Food was fabulous. The evening dining room experience was astoundingly. For a special occasion it’s worth every penny. It’s not cheap so don’t expect it to be. You get what you pay for.
