When we checked in, we were told we were getting one of the “newly renovated rooms “. Upon checking in after a long day traveling, I wanted a bath. I filled the tub and prepared to have my bath and when I turned around to get in it was empty. This newly renovated room had a tub that couldn’t hold water. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, there was a light burned out in the washroom and the TV was as grainy as the 1960s rabbit ear antenna reception.
Also, when I checked in I asked if the pool was open. Much to my disappointment I was told that it was not open. I was a little annoyed as I had stayed at the same hotel 20 years ago with my children. Looking forward to a swim after a hot days travel with 2 boys the pool was also closed at that time. Is the pool actually ever open? Why do you continue to advertise a pool if you don’t have one?
There was a young man on the desk named Darion. He was extremely helpful, he empathize with us and did offer us financial compensation. He was professional, understanding and very kind. He is the only reason I would ever return to this hotel in the future. If I were you, I would do whatever you can to keep him on your staff! We were also given food vouchers for the Denny’s restaurant next-door. ( don’t order the turkey dinner whatever you do)
The overall experience was OK thanks to Darion. If I were able to return, it would only be because of Darion.
