Parking very close Breakfast - ok Staff - ok Dinner in Pickled Sprout - very good and service very good- extensive menu Room - good 5th

The room was clean, however the bed was rock hard, the pillows were flat, the shower had low pressure and was very slow. However, the main issue during our stay were the functions held on both nights. We were in a room directly below the toilets of the function room. It was very noisy with the constant noise of the toilet flushing, loud noise from heels clonking on the wooden toilet floor and doors banging. Then at the end of the night people walking down the stair and singing/talking loudly outside our room. I would suggest people from the function should be placed in rooms near the function hall. I was extemely dissapointed that this was not the case and as we were up early making the most of of our 2 days stay with a packed itinery; being kept awake by the functions impacted the enjoyment of our break in Yorkshire.

Worst night in a hotel room for over twenty years. Stayed here several times before and always been fine but this room was awful. Banging through the floor until after midnight which started again around 5.00am. Stupidly hot room even with windows open and fans on so couldn’t rest. Smelled of food on arrival and torn bed linen (staff said they would change this but they didn’t). If I hadn’t prepaid I wouldn’t have paid for it - truly awful! Make sure you get a room that’s not over the kitchens otherwise you might as well sleep in the car. Had to check into another hotel for a few hours sleep before driving home - that’s how bad it was. There is a huge selection of hotels in Harrogate and this is just unacceptable.

Everything was very good apart from the shower which wasn’t really much better than a trickle. If they can sort that out i’d give it 5 stars!

The staff are lovely. My room was clean and comfortable. Tea, coffee and decent biscuits provided. Very close to the town centre and bus and train station.

I have stayed at the Yorkshire Hotel 4 times and always enjoyed it.This time it was ruined by the young boy on reception called joe.we checked in on Wednesday,great.Room was clean and tidy.Had a superb meal in the restaurant,then went to bed.The following morning we got up to cold showers.i rang down but phone just rang so I went down to the reception(phone still ringing) to find Joe playing on his phone instead of answering my call.i explained the situation and he said" there wasn't much he could do but would send the maid up.The maid was very nice and said sorry.we had cold showers then breakfast when leaving ,Joe said there not he could do(still no sorry) and scribbled down a e mail address then as I pulled away charged me for parking. Ruined are day.

Room was a good size ,but tv was placed at the side of the bed ¬ on a arm so you couldn't move to a better position so really bad neck ache.nice size shower but no pressure.The breakfast was a buffet we were expecting a breakfast menu,felt a bit like a free breakfast in a well known chain!very disappointing.had a meal in the pickled sprout which was excellent, would definitely recommend going there for a meal.

Parking perfect if you can get a free space - which we did. Very enjoyable breakfast. Clean, comforrable, quiet rooms. All staff cheerful and helpful

The hotel is very old but it’s been updated in an appropriate manner. Our room was a little small but served its purpose. The bathroom looked recently refurbished. The parking was excellent and as a blue badge holder we were able to park outside the main reception and parking was free.

Parking was fine and as we were residents thought a car park bay would have been included?

We hot parked at the front of the hotel which was good. I found the receptionist very helpful when we arrived . The hotel had a lovely feel to it. Our room was lovely and had lovely view over looking the green space. I had said we were travel for birthdays and was a card in our room on arrival which was a nice touch . Breakfast was really good I’m gluten free and found the staff very helpful. The views from the breakfast room are fantastic.

Buffet style breakfast, good size room, slightly noisy as it backed onto a little street with bars on.

The only issue we had was the noise in the evening as our room was directly above the bar. Also our family Mr & Mrs Thirkell were upgraded without charge as their original room was without a window which I do think we should have been made aware of before booking. Having said that the window didn’t close in the room properly and their heater didn’t work so they were frozen

Great location, amazing place for a drink as the sun sets on the balconies. Restaurant sharing boards fabulous, lovely staff & all round a great place to eat, drink & sleep.

Everything was spot on handy for the shops the pickled sprout restaurant was excellent and so was breakfast plus handy parking
