Parking was good, the room was clean, and the hotel was easy to access. The property itself wasn't the issue.
One frustration was that I had to search multiple floors in both the Sandman and Sandman Signature buildings before finding a single working drink machine. It shouldn't be that difficult to buy a drink at a hotel.
My bigger concern was the lack of supervision during a volleyball tournament weekend. Children were throwing ice, screaming in hallways, fighting and roughhousing in elevators, and repeatedly holding elevator doors open. Other guests were visibly frustrated as well.
I understand sports teams bring business to hotels, but paying guests should not have to deal with that level of disruption. If parents and chaperones aren't managing team behaviour, the hotel needs to step in and enforce standards.
For $255 per night, I expected a comfortable stay. Instead, I spent the weekend dealing with disturbances that should never have been allowed to continue. The hotel has a responsibility to ensure all guests can enjoy their stay, and on this visit, that simply didn't happen.
