The Hotel is set within the sprawling grounds which includes a wonderfully maintained golf course despite the current heatwave conditions. I was warmly greeted when checking in and got a lot of steps in getting to my room but was rewarded with a room with a view of the course and everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I used the onsite gym which had new equipment in great working condition which provided a good sweat and pump. I decided to dine elsewhere with Reading being only a few miles away. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a well-needed night's rest with breakfast options being varied allowing for a great start to the day. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was impeccable.

At check in we were directed to our room, in completely the wrong direction.. ended up on quite the mission. Then on entering our room there was a poo in the toilet - not great! The room was hot with no air con, and one of the windows didn't open at all. There was a fan in the room which was appreciated. I was also shocked at the cost of drinks in the bar - was more than London prices! However the pool was great, as was the choices at breakfast.

All good save that the safe didn’t work and the curtains were unhooked at the last hook allowing light to come in in the morning.

Lovely setting. Good room. Tasty breakfast. There was a large wedding going on which impacted our stay as everywhere was so busy and noisy.

We really enjoyed our stay on the estate. There are different accommodation buildings, and we stayed in the Wellington Lodge building on the estate and had breakfast in the Mansion House which was a short walk away. The room was very spacious and comfortable, one of the best we stayed in during our time in England and airconditioned which was much welcomed with the hot weather! Wished we got to stay more than one night. Will definitely stay again!

If you are going to have a reception/party that has access to outside areas and that goes on until 3am, then make sure that others staying at the hotel gave rooms on the other side of the building. The noise was dreadful and prevented others from sleeping

Great place but our room looked nothing like it was on any of the photos which was a little misleading?

I had a very nice stay at the Wokefield. The reason for the review was the service I received in my room. Whilst I was advised on the App that room service may well be an hour, I waited closer to 2. Was disappointed with the food when it arrived as well.

Room clean and well set out. The major issue was I was ground floor with patio doors opening out to parking as area for the golf club.. no air conditioning in the room ment had to TRY and sleep in a 30+ room not good. Otherwise mostly ok Breakfast was not worth £19.98 nice coffee tho.. Parking & staff was ok I did expect a little more the bar was like a sports bar not my scene.

The first time we stayed the hotel was very good but this time it was completely different in the space of 2 months, our room was okay however that was the only good thing. The evening meal in the view was a disaster the chips tasted like they had been re heated and my partner went without a main meal due to the pizza dough coming out twice undercooked and raw! Barely an apology or acknowledgment from the staff. Morning breakfast was stone cold and hardly an edible fruit left. Advise anyone not to bother eating here.

No airconditioning, just a poorly condition fan that wafted hot air about so room was absolutely roasting, on arrival windows were shut and curtains drawn, on a hot week these windows should have been open so not a good nights sleep. Heavy doors that everyone banks shut late at night and early in morning. Breakfast was diabolical, we went in about 9am, no fried eggs only boiled eggs of lukewarm scrambled, tough bacon and sausages, not fresh at all , been sitting there ages, toast machine was not toasting , ended up with hot bread and if put through twice was burnt, didnt bother even going second day. hard to park, very disappointing
