We stayed at Place St-Bernard Johansen – North Building during March Break 2026.
The staff were welcoming, helpful, and very kind throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated.
Our studio was located on the 4th floor and offered a beautiful view of the slopes and the activity on the main square. However, there is no elevator access from the 3rd to the 4th floor, which made access difficult—especially when carrying luggage or ski equipment.
The unit itself featured a double Murphy bed and a sofa, but the bedding was limited, with not enough sheets and blankets provided. Heating was also an issue: despite having two heaters, the room remained quite cold during our stay, particularly with outdoor temperatures around -20°C.
On a positive note, the kitchen appeared fairly new and was well-equipped with sufficient cutlery, plates, and cookware. The inclusion of a Keurig coffee machine was also a nice touch.
Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major concern. The studio had not been properly cleaned—there was noticeable dust throughout, and under the Murphy bed it appeared not to have been vacuumed for quite some time, with candy wrappers and debris left behind.
Another inconvenience was the lack of available lockers for ski equipment. We were unable to secure one, which meant storing our skis in the car and repeatedly navigating the stairs in ski boots.
Overall, while the location and staff were great, the unit would significantly benefit from a thorough deep cleaning, improved heating, and better access to storage for sporting equipment.
