Rooms were clean staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Nice shower and soaps . Good coffee machine in rooms . Just needs abit of paint touch ups around the place, apart from that can’t fault it. Nice place great town and location First class.

The room was dated and not the cleanest in the bathroom. I found it inconvenient that there was no phone in the room to order room service or contact reception.

I loved the decor in the room and it was spacious which was great as I had my grandchildren sharing with me. The bathroom was also lovely and large. I was specially looking forward to having a soak in the claw foot bath after a long day with two eleven year olds. However, there was a problem with water supply - as in - there was no water. Whilst I accept this was not just this hotel but in the wider area, it would have been nice to have been informed of this and supplied with extra water at least for teeth cleaning. As it was a hot day we had consumed the complimentary water by this time. A note under our room door would have been appreciated. The breakfast was 'ok'. I've definitely had better - not impressed with one rasher of fatty bacon and one small mushroom. The sausage was tasty and whilst the poached eggs didn't look great, they did have soft yolks

Brilliant breakfast, friendly service

Great location, room with sofa was huge and the bathroom was lovely. Great pub and food was great. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly.

The best part of our stay was the food in the restaurant. It was exceptional. The worst part was the 38 steps up to our top floor room and the quarter mile walk to the car park. The bed was comfortable, the Nespresso coffee maker was nice and the shower was just OK, having only a rain head and no wand. The bar is great for what’s on the bar menu but lame for US cocktails. For instance, the bartender didn’t know what either a manhattan or Rob Roy was.

The hotel was well located in the middle of town. There was no air conditioning, but the temperatures cooled off at night and a fan was provided. But the staff was the most wonderful part of our stay. They were pleasant, helpful, and just overall wonderful!

Lovely pub hotel right in the centre of town. Had a very nice stay.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, always giving the best customer service. The rooms were clean, comfy beds. It’s an old building so expect creaky floorboards! The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Would highly recommend staying here.

As it’s an old building the stairs are a little narrow in places. No good for disabled people as no lift.
