The room was recently renovated and much nicer than the last time I was there. I made coffee and had the fireplace on and it must have tripped a breaker. Both stopped.

Wonderful to see how far they have come in the year since re-opening the property. Lively environment in the restaurant but still overall quiet and friendly to allow for full enjoyment of the wonderful setting. Shout out to Catherine in the on-site wildlife tour operation. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Walk to the tour from your room- terrific. I am a solo female traveller from Vancouver who comes to fish. I’ll stay here each time I come!

Everything was superb

First of all, wrong room, thoufh i phoned after booking to be certain. There was no lamp, no hair dryer, no dog dish, no phone, no lamp. Spotty wifi. Poor size quantity of food. Not very accessible to waterfront if carrying items. Parking isn't assigned. Alcohol over priced poor selection People obnoxious xxx loud, constant smoking. Second day after complaining moved to the correct room. Razor blades, nails saw dust and garbage on lawn. Cut my foot. Bathroom not clean. Duvet had something orange on it. Not impressed. Ac worked and furniture was new. Sad to say it's lost its charm.

The lodge is undergoing upgrades after some years of neglect. Eg Our beds needed replacing. The new shower was great. There weren’t any instructions for the TV so we needed someone to find the soccer game for us. Washrooms near the dining/bar were being renovated so it was extremely noisy. Waitresses were quite good and helpful in finding other eating places for dinner. I’m sure things will improve in the next few years.

The view was pretty. The room was a nightmare !!. The AC sounded like an old tractor. One small mirror only in the bathroom behind the sink. Three steps down to go bed or 3 steps up to go the washroom. For a disabled person like me it is not easy. But best of all, there is a bedframe all around the beds like a shelf of 15 cm wide all around with pointed corners. I bumped into it twice. Boy it hurts !! The room is not very big to start with but with 2 beds you loose 60 cms . The worst part is when you get out of bed, you must go over this shelf and it hurts the back of your legs!!!! Apparently, I got one of the newly decorated room.BRAVO !!!! At breakfast, I got 2 dirty mugs, one with coffee stains and the other with lipstick. But the view was nice.!!!!

This is a wonderful property and a beautiful location. It’s a very quiet location with lots of nice amenities and waterfront with a private dock. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and very quiet. Highly recommended and would return again.

Front staff were efficient and friendly. The resort is easy to navigate. We loved our ocean view. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the water, watching boats and float planes and searching for whales. Our room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. We had an afternoon nosh with drinks, supper and a breakfast both inside and on the deck during our stay. The food was delicious, our servers were knowledgeable and very pleasant.

The room was supposed to be ocean view - parking lot both beds had a6” revel around bed on 3sides most unusual giving only 12”” to get around bed and picture on wall to overcome at first we thought it was the fridge turns out it was large vent going from lower kitchen between our balcony and adjoining room sht down at midnight started 7 30 in morning

We stayed at Painter's for two nights on the way to, and back, from Telegraph Cove. Painter's is a very relaxing place to stay on a busy road trip. It's a little time out to just sit on the fantastic terrace and have a drink or a meal and watch that spectacular view. On our first night, there was a humpback in the inlet and it was a joy to sit, with a glass of wine and some binoculars, and just watch it. The staff and so friendly and helpful, I enjoyed chatting about the gardens and the cruise ships going past. We had sea view rooms both times, it's a great view to wake up to. There's a lovely outdoor pool that, unfortunately, I did not get time to use but maybe next time. Painter's is a lovely, relaxing place to stay, we would recommend it.

The view was lovely but the room looked hastily put together, beds not made properly, pictures hung too high and off centre. It just looked like a rush job to get it done. The sheets were washed with scented detergent or dried with dryer sheets and I found it really unpleasant. A good percentage of people don't like scents so I would suggest just using unscented products. We had dinner at the pub and it tasted really good. I am very sensitive to msg though, and that night, I didn't sleep at all which is usually caused by putting msg in restaurant food. We don't eat out that much so I do notice the effect it has on me. I think this lodge could be great with some tweaking. The location and amenities are very attractive. Cheers, Ellie

Modern buildings, gorgeous views. The room was like new, very comfortable bed and very clean. Pool was clean, there were tours right at the property site. I would definately stay again.

Amazing views from our oceanfront room, undergoing renovation. Big rain shower, no tub. Very clean and comfortable. Serene environment. We wished it had a hot tub, as was advertised on Expedia and asked about twice...but the warm pool was nice to have before hitting the road again. Would stay again,(and eat a Nahu 10/10)
