Lovely location and friendly staff. We went in early June and it was very quiet, restaurants weren't open but buffet was ok. The spa was nice but you have to pay to use it and it's the only area with outside seating and access to the pool. There was no bar, which were found very strange but nearby hotels and the commercial center round the corner were all good for drinks.

Great hotel which still holds some of the past grandeur!!! It belongs now to a group (eurostars) which I don’t like (name, philosophy, etc) but still, that’s fine for now. Spa is good - recommend the chocolate and orange duo massage. Nuria and Judy were beyond expectations! The manager didn’t want us to access the indoor pool (25€) even if we paid € in treatments. It’s their policy. Great climate outside pool!! Great views. The park next door is great for a run or workout.

Hotel Isla de la Toja. Perfect relaxing days!! 👏🏻❤️ Breakfast and dinner: professional staff, good quality and variety (missing the cafeteria in the afternoon). Rooms and spa in very good condition. (Safe and clean) (My husband and I are planning to come back in March to use the outdoor pools) ☺️ Highly recommended

👍👍location 👍👍view 👍pool 👍spa. Not that big but it's not crowded. They got really good water pressure so be ready. 😉 👍service/staff. They helped us with our luggage which is uncommon in Europe but is what you can expect in Asia be it 5☆'s or 2☆'s. But well, it's a 4☆'s hotel...so maybe that was why. 👍👎massage. My husband was lucky with his. Intrigued, I tried it but with another masseuse and I was completely disappointed. They did work non-stop, very professional, not a chatterbox -- you are left in peace with your thoughts but the massage I got just didn't fit me. It didn't make me forget my name. So it depends on your masseuse/masseur unfortunately. 👎👎food -- especially the room service. The sopa de pescado y marisco was from the can!!! They just added some chipirones. My husband said it tasted the same as the canned one and yes, it just didn't taste like how seafood soup should taste. For someone who doesn't eat processed foods, my body felt like I've poisoned myself. Truly. The second time we ordered, the chipirones was salted twice or thrice! Mineral/Filtered water should still be served even/especially if the customer didn't order/ask for any drinks. I don't remember to be provided with daily complimentary water. Also, the buffet breakfast could be better. Staying there for 4 days, it gets boringggg. Not many healthy options -- just sauteed vegetables, nuts, fruits, oats, smoked salmon (which was bland) and yogurt. Everyday the same! 👎👎noise isolation. Neighbors farting, having a thunderous dump, making love, sneezing, water draining, showering, opening/closing of the tap -- we could hear everything!!! Very peaceful if there's not many people. Six guests having a good time laughing and chatting downstairs (outside) after many glasses of wine can ruin the peace. If we were at a teahouse in Nepal, that would be understandable as it's free and it's only a plywood separation from the other room. 👎no other way to go to the balneario but through where the event attendees are. During our stay, the King of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, the current PM and other politicians and officials were there. So we were with our bathrobe and slippers walking through a crowd of suits and ties. 👎doors are tricky/noisy to close/open 👎Bed/pillows - hard for my taste, when one moves, the other is sure to feel it. What to bring? Bikes, kayaks, good walking shoes Where to eat? Not in O Grove, definitely as they are overpriced and not really worth it. We did check Google for the best-reviewed restaurants but we were absolutely disappointed. You could go to Portonovo at El Rincon or El Manolito (☆rape). Reasonable prices and good quality food. It's where locals go.
