On one day, there was a power cut. This was obviously not the hotel's fault, but we were told it was a common occurrence & yet the hotel was not prepared at all. Furthermore, the office manager, Alberto, agreed that we should receive a full refund for this night, but despite sending 2 emails, as Alberto suggested, we have not even had an acknowledgement of the emails.
The electricity was off until 11.20 pm, and consequently the room was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning and no fridge. The lift wasn't working, so we had to use the stairs. I have a heart condition & my wife walks with a stick, so this wasn't ideal. In addition, the room wasn't cleaned, the bed wasn't made and the towels weren't changed. Also, no temporary lighting was provided in the corridors, so we had to navigate the corridors in total darkness.
We paid £292.61 a night for each of the 4 nights we stayed, but Alberto told us very clearly that we would get a full refund for that one night. We have been ignored since we left, so it looks as if Alberto was just making things up to placate us. That is neither acceptable nor professional from such a senior employee.
