The Room smelt of drains and we had the fire alarm go off twice in the middle of the night. I am afraid it was not a relaxing break.

Room was clean and tidy . Bit dark though , could do with more overhead main lights to brighten the room up . The side lights alone didn’t illuminate the room enough . Tv didn’t seem to work , wouldn’t respond to remote and trying to access Netflix . Breakfast was really nice .

When we got our first room there was a hole in the bath as is not the plug hole... there was a reception, we went to the staff and they gave us the other room next to it. and that was okay..... The only thing about that room is the fact that the lights were all on one switch and and it was cold because I've had a stroke so it's difficult for me to get warm.....so you couldn't put half so if you if you weren't if you went to sleep and one person wanted to do studying then it would difficult

While the rooms are slightly dated, they offer excellent value for money and there’s very little to complain about at this price point. Breakfast is available, although parking does come at an additional cost. One of the standout features is the size of the rooms — they are exceptionally spacious compared to typical city hotels. On every stay, I’ve found thoughtful touches such as bathrobes, quality shampoos, and other welcome comforts. My most recent room also included a fridge, which was a nice bonus, and the large television made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay for both me and my partner.

Regular visitor and as positive experience as ever. The lack of plug sockets near the beds is a frustration

Room and staff lovely

Staff were ok - everything is an extra including using the gym. Room was absolutely disgusting, shower head covered in mould, cigarette burns on side, dusty, just generally a horrible place to be

Room was terrible and unclean. Skirting board falling apart. Bathroom mouldy and a chocolate bar and rubbish shoved down the back of the mattress.

Amazing bar

Nice hotel bar with the football on & good food.

Dated, dirty, overpriced. Needs knocking down and rebuilding. Cutlery dirty at breakfast, breakfast also cold. Bed was like a camp bed. Only plus was the staff were pleasant. I wouldn’t even give it a 1/10 absolutely awful.

Clean enough and good parking but £5 per day. Room dark and depressing and in need of refurbishment. Mattress worn out causing back problems as sunk in middle creating roll to. Decor awful (wall painted nearly black). Bedlinen poor quality and fit. Unclean plates at breakfast. Breakfast canteen staff surly and unhelpful. Will not use again.

Room was really nice. Food in the evening was excellent. Breakfast bit o let down Use of heat lamp cabinets food never stays hot unless you get there when it first get layed out and then you might get it a bit over cooked. 1 Tea and coffee machines so always a que. Sat in bar with dog and was asked nicely to move as dogs not allowed in that area could not really understand that it was no different to sitting in a pub bar and people eating and drinking can understand the actual restraunt area but a bar .really Apart from that can not fault hotel and staff all polite and very helpful.

Overall, the stay was fantastic, with a really nice atmosphere. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. However, in the evening, a member of staff swore at us when we tried to order a coffee at the Starbucks counter. This was very unprofessional and uncalled for.

First night heating did not work neither did flush on toilet. Bedroom was very dated and not clean cobwebs around light fittings and bed. This is not a 4 * hotel.

Average hotel with a number of add ons which is not acceptable and should be included. Pool access charge! Parking charge! Spa charge! So the price you pay is just the room only. Otherwise staff lovely and beds comfy. Dated rooms could do with redecor but great sized room and clean except under the bed.

The hotel and room were fine, just disappointed to find the pool closed at 7pm on a Saturday. We arrived just after and had booked this place as it had a pool. Most I have stayed in are open until 10pm
