We stayed here for one night at the weekend for my partner's 40th birthday, and staff were so helpful and kind. I emailed in advance to ask if they could do anything to make it nice for him, and they went above and beyond. I received a response instsntly. Upon arrival, my fiancé was given a room upgrade and there was a card with snacks for him in the room to surprise him. Thank you so much for organising this! The room itself was great. Large comfy bed, with balcony that overlooked the river. The view was so pretty! The breakfast was good, with lots of options and constantly topped up with fresh foods. Location - the hotel is a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars. And next to plenty of other sight seeing opportunities. Halmstad itself is fun and friendly, with plenty of things to do, see, eat and shop! We'll definitely be back to the Scandic. It was great!

Natasha was our receptionist and she was very expectional with her duties: she was hospital, kind (brought candy), friendly and courteous! Because of her I highly recommend Scandic Halmstad.

A little run down but the ok standard. The room was clean and so was the bath. Our room was in a separate building and we had to go outside to get there. Very good breakfast. The bartender did not know how to mix drinks, but she was open with it but it was a surprise to us...

Showing its age. Felt more like being in a hostel than hotel. We had booked a room for 3 but the 3rd bed (pull out couch) was not made and we were expected to do it ourselves - which is no big deal, but again they were the ONLY hotel in the 10 or so hotels we stayed at doing our Swedish roadtrip where that was the case. Get to breakfast early, as products run out quickly and are not replenished as efficiently. (If at all). Very limited parking, and none available for us, we had to park across the main (heavily trafficated)road , a couple of 100m’s away. Location is however great! For a 100sek or so more I would have much preferred staying in a better hotel The least value for money option we had during our vacation.

We booked last minute. They managed to fulfill all our requests (high floor and nice view) The reception staff service was top. All starts check in, very informative and welcoming. Plus one of the girls shared some lovely recommendations, tailored to our taste. That's why I call service! The rooms were nicely clean but maybe take a look at the shower gel, shampoo containers...the tv doesn't work properly. Breakfast was large and loads of choices, really good too. The spa on top, breathtaking!! 😎👍
