Our long lasting impression will be the excellent attentive, helpful and friendliness of all the staff we encountered. Also, the hotel location was perfectly placed next to the beautiful river Avon and with easy walking distance to the centre of Salisbury.

Place is perfect location for the racecourse and sightseeing breakfasts amazing staff helpful only down side you have to pay for parking but apart from that great place

Location location location

The over-riding issue was the temperature; whilst we accept that to install air conditioning in a building such as this would be difficult we would have expected as a very minimum for a fan or free standing air con unit to be put into every room or in the current heatwave a newer and more appropriate room to be offered. We arrived late and were in bed before realising how uncomfortable the room was At this price point we were exceedingly disappointed

Great hotel in a great and convenient position for the town centre with a picturesque setting by the river.

Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Parking was extra (£5- day) The room (deluxe ) was a little tired and the bath chipped. In a very old building it would have been nice to have had a small refrigerator to cool the water provided as it was very hot and, as usual, in the UK not air conditioned. The outside seating area was wonderful and cool in the evening. The breakfast was great

Lovely room and en-suite. Very old so inevitable creaky floorboards above us but otherwise quiet. Very nice staff and breakfast. Ample parking, not sure about cost as had a deal. Easy walk to city centre and plenty of shops

Lovely old hotel in good location about 10 minute walk from cathedral. Staff were excellent and breakfast was good.

One of the best hotels I have had the privilege to stay in❤️ From the checking in with Amanda to the room itself, absolutely beautiful . A pitty the weather didn’t play ball, location amazing , view amazing , city a short stroll away. If you want a nice hotel this is the one for you!

Plus, clean spacious room with a patio door opening onto an outside area leading down to the river. Negative, soundproofing is non existent, you are at the mercy of who is in the room above. above you, the noise from the room above was excessive. Creaking floor (yes its an old building),

Great hotel full of character. Next to the river and a short walk into the main town. Parking available at the back of the hotel. Staff were great, always friendly. Rooms differ from modern to very old. Rates are reasonable and the breakfast delightful. Have stayed here many times always good.

Check-in was easy. The room was at the far end of the hotel despite low occupancy. The property was a little tired but the rooms were comfortable, beds and shower good too. Breakfast was good. Be aware that there is a £5 charge for parking that we were not advised of at check in . This surprise was announced at check out the next day

Very comfortable hotel. Lovely location 5 min walk to cathedral. Room was a bit warm for our liking, as it was a top floor room and we had sunny weather. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was okay.
