Nothing was any trouble for the staff. Majority of the hotel was in very good condition. Our room was a bit dated including the bathroom and balcony furniture. The view over the lake was well worth the extra we paid for an upgrade. We would stay again if only for the view a d the area.

Had a great stay, enjoyed the food too

Comfortable large bed, however for an upgraded lakeside view room it was quite basic - no fridge, toiletries or balcony. No air conditioning! We had a side view of the lake, not quite as expected. Headboard & bathroom have seen better days. Scant amount of towels provided. It would appear that the communal areas have been renovated but not the bedrooms. Extortionate drink prices at the bar. Good choice of breakfast though. Unlikely to return.

There was no AC

We only stayed one night, however the whole site had a holiday feel. The receptionist recommended the Boathouse restaurant which was excellent. Amazing food and stunning views.

The room was very hot and had no aircon. We were able to have a window open. I realise with a changing climate this is difficult to manage. Overall a great venue and location. We will be coming back,

Beautifully positioned on the edge of the lake, the hotel is a great place to relax. The rooms are well appointed and slightly larger than the average hotel room. Very comfortable bed. We were offered a lakeside view room when we arrived for an extra £30 and it was well worth the extra. We would come again.

Lovely stay

Nice location and grounds, great breakfast selection

Room was large and well appointed, large very comfortable bed. Bathroom had nice toiletries and was clean. Decking outside of room with comfortable wood chairs by the river was good although a bit close to the next room. Buffet breakfast very good plenty of choice and good coffee. Staff were very polite and helpful

Had a new upgraded room - very comfortable overlooking the lake. Ability to sit outside. Fan provided for heat Parking onsite Staff very obliging

Disappointed with the stay. No air con in the rooms - provided with one ineffective fan. That being after we were convinced by reception to pay to upgrade our room, only to find our room has floor to ceiling windows in direct sunlight all day, that only open at the tops. We also mentioned at the start (and in advance) that we were staying for our one year wedding anniversary and it was completely ignored throughout.

Reception staff upon checkin were excellent and we received a complimentary upgrade which we were very grateful for. Room was vast and had beautiful views but I can’t help but feel it hadn’t been used in some time, in ways it felt it was dilapidated and in need of some TLC. The chairs on the balcony I made a conscious decision not to sit on due to their rocky motion and heavily weathered finish. The shower head was left at such an angle that when it was turned on it drenched the bathroom and left us a towel down. All of this can be over looked and realistically for all of the 100’s of hotels I stay in annually I would’ve been happy with otherwise, what really let this venue down was both the on site restaurant and the hotel bar, the service and attitude from the boathouse

Staff were great, helpful, friendly. Breakfast was superb, so many choices. WiFi is good throughout the property. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Unfortunately the balconies need a good brush down from cobwebs as does the windows inside and out of the brasserie. Big noise problem from the doors . They are heavy and loud and no one seems to want to shut them gently so you are woken late at night and early in the morning. Also , if your room is near the large decking areas you get a lot of noise from people.

I enjoyed my stay, but I found the room to be a little noisy given the proximity to a busy road nearby. Also, I realized that there was no air conditioning in my room.

Great location, great staff, espicially kirsty at reception. Room was fab, balcony could have been cleaner. No AC in the rooms is a big miss as the room was extremely hot and uncomfortable, fan provided did not really help. Old boat house is fab restuarant.

Great stay and staff were outstanding

This hotel is not an accomodation for families even of they have family rooms. I did not feel at ease with my 2 young children. Do NOT visit if you are travelling with young children. Nothing is easy everything is very expensive… the room was not clean, there was mold, the toiket didn’t flush properly and staff (and some clients) was looking at me from far up. It’s best to avoid if you don’t like this type of BS.
