The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and whenever we interacted with them. Our room was clean and in good condition. The outdoor beer garden was a great place to enjoy an afternoon drink, and family friendly for our five-year-old to join. The hotel was located a short distance from the Bootham Bar entrance to the city centre and conveniently located near other amenities.

A lovely compact hotel with exceptionally helpful staff and a wonderful garden for sitting out in for drinking and eating. Nothing can be improved. Well done.

We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. The en-suite had a spacious walk-in shower and toiletries were included. We used the hotel restaurant in the evenings and our meals were both well presented and delicious. The hotel bar had a good variety of beers, wine and spirits and there was also an outside seating area in the garden which included all-weather glass pods. The hotel staff were all very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable and made our time in the hotel such a fantastic and valued experience.

The hotel itself was lovely. Would recommend having a pizza outside it was amazing. Staff are helpful. Rooms clean tidy everything you needed. My only one thing was no Aircon. We did have one fan room was stuffy, requested another which they were not able to give us. Went into town and bought handheld fans which we were able to put on the side tables

Lovely hotel and the rooms were beautiful. The staff were very helpful at all times . We didn’t eat there but it all looked amazing. The only thing I would say it could do with a small fridge in the room to keep drinks cold . As we went during a heatwave and it was very hot in the room .

Room was clean and well looked after, lots of nice touches. Staff were polite and helpful from check -in to check - out, nothing was to much trouble

Lovely hotel with great staff and food. Only criticism is the carpark. I was charged £18 to park overnight as a guest, which i thought would have heen included in the room rate so came as a big surprise.

The bathroom needs cleaning properly! The sink had a residue in it ( I wiped it down with a small towel and the only cleaning product to hand….shower gel! ). There is some black mould starting on the tiles and water damage at the bottom of the door frame in side the bathroom. The room was very hot even with the window open jar. It would be really uncomfortable in the summer. We were near a door and it’s really noisy! I was annoyed at being charged £36 for car parking having not been told this at check-in. I would have parked elsewhere.

Small room but very typical of hotel rooms in England. Had all the necessary amenities and comforts. Very pretty room and hotel in general. Friendly staff. Only downside is expensive parking.

I is a very quaint hotel close to the city center. The room was small but comfortable. The pearling lot was quite tight and the entry gates are very narrow but all of it was very charming. We were only there 1 night and it served its purpose well. The staff were delightful!
