This should have been lovely, spa bath in room, bathrobes etc but unfortunately it was disappointing. Tied decor, no bathroom lock, the noisiest flush on a toilet I’ve ever heard, bath plug didn’t fit properly so water drained away, window handle broken so it couldn’t be opened (it was over 30degrees that day). The reception area smelled like a carvery which was off putting. My biggest issue was that we booked a room specifically for the 3 single beds but it was made up as a double and a single which was not what we wanted.

The room was spacious, comfortable beds . The staff were friendly and helpful . Large car park on site .

Room was tired, duvet was below standard and lumpy, mattress should have been thrown on the tip 10 years ago. The bathroom was in need of a refit too. I tired the restaurant, ordered the prawn chilli linguine, looked forward to it but was very disappointed. Linguine was in a watery, flavourless soup, tinned tomatoes with a bit of black pepper and some prawns. I ate the prawns and left the dining room, £18 was also a bit steep!! Reception played music so loud I could hear it in my room, with the TV on and my door closed. The grounds were nice, although the "pond" at the end of the garden had rubbish in it and the water was not pleasant. Unfortunately I won't be going back, wasn't value for money, Premier Inn would have been better!!

Great little spot. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. They had a local jazz group playing on Friday night. Fun to listen to. Just 6 old timers singing. They had a large wedding on Saturday night and we were concerned we’d be disturbed by music and the guests enjoying themselves. We never heard a thing and slept peacefully on the very comfy king sized bed.

Nice hotel in a lovely location with an excellent restaurant

Room was tidy but a bit worn in places, shower wasn’t very warm, property itself was a bit run down, and there was a strong smell of cigarettes on entry and through out the hotel, room was fresh though But the staff were lovely, breakfast was brilliant, out the way off the main road and quiet at night bed was very comfy! Stayed for a wedding reception, the event room was really nicely decorated and spacious! Bar a bit pricey though £5 pint of coke!

We had a lovely stay. The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, welcoming, and genuinely focused on giving us the best experience. The family room was spacious with beautiful décor, and the location was perfect for visiting Chester Zoo (less than a 15-minute drive). The kids loved the games room, and the food was impeccable. Breakfast the next morning was cooked fresh to order, and the chef personally greeted us. He was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was that the jets in the bathtub weren’t working, which was one of the reasons I booked. Because of that, I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return.

Everything, the staff are super lovely, comfortable beds, food looked amazing drinks at the bar or sit in the lounge. Baths to due for lovely deep and lashings of hot water. Breakfast was just amazing fresh fruit, coffees pasties cereals and a great option of cooked all lovely a secret little hidaway greart amikies girls trip or a romantuc get away secret little hideawat and only 10 minutes from shopping outlet

Friendly attentive staff, good food options, comfortable rooms with good facilities. Plenty of parking and well situated to be convenient yet quiet.

Lovely hotel, so nice for a hotel to be different from the large chains who provide the same thing everytime. The staff were all very approachable and friendly, ghe food excellent and the room was spacious and clean. I will certainly return when im in the area.

Lovely stay, hotel in beautiful grounds and location

Fabulous! Pure peace and relaxation (Sunday & Monday). Lots of good quality attention to detail to make it easy to relax and feel pampered -for example bath cushion and reading board plus candle, mini nail kit, and tooth cleaning set. Things to keep you busy - ie games sets and books. The furniture is good old style/ antique ie real wood and lots of paintings in gold frames ( so more National trust style rather than premier inn). Our bed had a good quality mattress and was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Gary (carried my suitcase, gave us a demo of the room air con, made sure we could find different rooms ok, and that we were all set for breakfast and evening meal. The food & service was excellent (restaurant closed Sunday night/ open Monday). The gardens with meandering paths down to the little pool and bridge over the river lit up at night was so pretty. We were lucky to have sunny day and the gardens pretty much to ourselves to read in during the day. There is a lovely circular walk from the hotel down to Hooten alongside the railway.

There was a wedding at the hotel with a very loud disco until past 12am and interestingly the staff were not keen to help and offered us to leave at 11:30pm if we’re not happy to stay. Also the website says £20 charge for pet while they charged us £35 as they said they don’t have the available rooms used for pets.

For the price paid i was happy with my stay. Sure the room is a bit dated and there are some minor paint issues, but i couldnt fault the friendly service and cleanliness. Plenty of parking (even during a busy wedding party) was a bonus too. Having a water filter jug in the room is a great idea, really saves on plastic bottles, and the toiletry pack was a nice little touch. It was peaceful and very quiet so no issues falling asleep.
