Free parking and good location but thats about the only positives. The hotel is outdated and in dire need of upgrades. The bathroom in our room made me want to puke. We visited in peak summer, there was no ac and no fan. Staff disappear at 10pm so you are on your own and cannot get assistance. There is a number you can message but they don’t respond until the morning anyway so its pointless. Lounge area tv’s etc turned off at 10pm when staff leave so we were unable to watch the game and had to watch on the tiniest rv in our room. If you like standards and comfort then this hotel will make you want to cry, avoid. Its a shame as it is in a great location and has so much potential if only they cared!

Stayed in room 21 - it was like a sauna. No windows open when entering the room and smelt like someone had eaten an Indian curry beforehand. Decent sized room, nice linen. Poor quality mattress Couldn't get the hot water to work in the shower. Invest in a fan in your rooms it would make a significant difference. Bar only open on a Friday and Saturday night for some strange reason even though at least 2 members of staff working one wearing a white shirt that had never seen an iron. In the 'lounge' some guy was eating food that he'd brought in, laid out on the sofa with his feet up on the sofa like it was his house. Playing loud videos on his phone whilst I was trying to watch the last part of the football on the TV, I lasted 2 minutes and left him to it. On leaving the guy on reception just took my key, didn't ask if my stay was ok, wish me a good morning etc. Even though it's cheap (I booked it very last minute) I'd spend a but more money and stay somewhere else

First impressions very nice helpful staff, room was basic and clean bathrooms clean and plenty of hot water ………. But tv didn’t work report it to reception nothing got done, on further inspection before we left the room we noticed that one of the sheets was a different colour to the other ( the beds were two beds pushed together which was fine and VERY COMFORTABLE) but when we looked closer we found that there was no mattress protector on the bed and the stains from the mattress had bleed through to the sheet, on closer examination we saw the state of the mattress we reported it straight away to reception

No breakfast /food, staff seemed to take personal phonecall while checking me in. Decor very old/drab - reminded me of the sort of place Victor Meldrew would end up in. Room amenities not amazing. Free parking was good, and good location.

Unfortunately on 2nd floor shower was cold to barely lukewarm for the entire weekend in March. Heating too was off when we arrived but later fixed. No breakfast available and noise throughout the night with banging doors talking laughing etc. Odour exists in rooms and corridors. Hotel is a throwback to the 60's and badly in need of a total renovation. However the price is quite cheap so you get what you pay for.

Don’t be fooled. There is no restaurant on-site. They offer no breakfast and according to the clerk there hasn’t been one operating for over a year, not even a bottle of water was available in the rooms. The dining options around are quite limited. The room had spider webs in different places, then it wasn’t serviced or cleaned day after day.

Mum is in a wheelchair and the lift was so tiny wouldn't fit a wheelchair and someone pushing it. I would not class it as wheelchair friendly

The hotel was clean and presentable, close to town centre with easy bus routes to and from Bournemouth

This is a clearly once good hotel in a central location in Bournemouth spoilt by a tital lack of any serious investment for around 40 years (when better off customers started holidaying abroad) meaning the bathrooms still date from the late 1970s and the lack of attention to detail is so widespread that my bedroom had no bedside light but only an overhead light while the 1970s cold tap on the bathroom sink would only turn on in the wrong direction. Room door locking system was also old and worn out. This could be a decent hotel if it was taken over and fully refurbished by a large national chain instead of the current cheese pairing owners.
