Absolutely loved this hotel and Santa Margherita de Ligure. It’s a fantastic place to stay, the area is absolutely beautiful and so easy to get around, the hotel is elegant, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic quality. The breakfasts were superb, the patisserie worthy of Paul Hollywood. We ate once in the evening and it was v good but v expensive and there are some excellent restaurants in Santa Margherita. The poolside service was a bit slow- they bed a bit of training there, but tvat is a mi or matter. I’m telling everyone I know to go there, we loved it so much. Just one word of caution - you do need to be moderately fit or at least not completely unfit - the hotel is on a hill with fantastic views but it’s 130 steps down to the sea. We definitely came back fitter than we left - just as well with all that gorgeous patisserie at breakfast

We had a nice suite overlooking the sea . Breakfast was good evening dinners were ok nothing to write home about. They can certainly improve on them. Service staff was good. Might be a good idea to offer a shuttle service into town as you have to walk on Main Street with small side paths .

This is the first class property. And also first class staff. My wife and I bought a bottle of wine at dinner. By the end of dinner, we thought that we drank three bottles of wine. The reason why is because every time we took a sip or two the waiter would come and refill our glasses. Or I should say waiters. He was there so many times and was so attentive that we literally thought we drink three bottles of wine. It was a very beautiful experience. I was impressed with the property and the people.

It is impossible to truly convey the incredible experience we had at this hotel. The room was one of the most beautiful we have seen in over 40 years of traveling. The old world elegance, combined with modern amenities was unbeatable. The history and treasures of the hotel are significant, and a joy for those who value such things. We were there for five days, and decided our last day there just to stay at the hotel and enjoy the absolutely stunning gardens and pool/seaside area. There was not a single staff member in this hotel who was nos not giving 1000%, and it showed. The terraces are magnificent. Breakfast selections were vast, and they offer both casual terrace dining for a light meal, or full on dinner. Beautiful views in every direction. We came in by train and if you have luggage, we suggest the very short taxi ride. You can walk it, but it’s lots of (gorgeous) steps. If you have a chance to stay here, don’t miss this gem! Highest rating we can bestow any property!!!

This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely pool area right on the water. The views are stunning. Our biggest issue was with the beds. They are super hard/firm and incredibly uncomfortable. I would recommend testing the comfort of the bed before accepting a particular room.

Faultless experience! This beautiful hotel has the best views of Santa Margherita and Portfino. Our suite with balcony and sea views was spacious and beautifully decorated with 2 bathrooms and a separate sitting room. The staff were excellent and breakfast on the terrace was stunning. For 4 days in May 2025 it felt like a fairytale in a palace.
