Friendly, helpful & pleasant staff. Room was small but well equipped but fine for a one night stay. Seems overpriced considering what else is available in the area.

Lovely staff. Hotel windows exteriors are quite dirty. Parking is limited too but on the street parking is useful. The location is excellent.

A surprisingly nice hotel! We booked for a concert at the open air theatre so went foR a near to hotel. It couldn’t be any nearer , an easy 5min walk! We loved that we could reserve a parking space in advance as two girls travelling we wanted to make sure the car was parked and we didn’t have to walk about too much in the evening, it cost £8 but well worth it to not have the hassle as not knowing the area. All the staff were really lovely and the place was lovely and clean, It was a little beige in its decor but had large well appointed rooms as it’s a period building and a fabulous sea view! The next day we had a little wonder to the beach before we left (it’s right on the north bay beach ) Will definitely come and stay again thank you!

On the whole good. Price was steep but summer holidays (there for a concert) so what can you do. Expected biscuits in room and pastries at breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly. We didn't use it this time but impressed with the allocated parking space if you pre booked it.

We had the small twin room very clean , no views as windows were covered and wouldn’t open they were alarmed … and the air con unit was quite noisy it kept going on and off .when customers who had surging switched it on and off . It didn’t spoil the stay for us , but just for information. Staff were excellent location good parking good 10 /15 minute walk down to the front . Bus to south side …

This hotel needs investment. It is old and tired. The position on the cliff top is amazing with amazing views. The reception staff were friendly and quite efficient. The bedroom was small and old fashioned although clean and the beds were comfortable. We had been to the open air theatre for the evening so this hotel was ideally placed to return to after the concert.

A lovely light room with wonderful sea views from every window including the ensuite. There was a loose floorboard but otherwise the room was good. Liked having a pod coffee machine. Only one small lift with a gate which wasn't always closed after people used it. This made it difficult to use the lift and there was quite a queue after the concert.

We stayed a few years ago and it has massively improved since then. We tried to ring to book a parking space but struggled to get an answer however there was space when we arrived. It is in a great location. We will definitely go back.

One night stay for a visit to Open Air Theatre. The Clifton was well located and although we couldn't get a space in the car park we were given a on street permit to use. Room was a small double, was ok for our needs.

Windows were absolutely filthy, we paid more for a sea view room but struggled to see out of the filthy window. Lift needs updating as if residents didn't shut the gate it would not work and have to use the stairs.. very difficult with luggage and mobility issues...

We stopped going to the Clifton 20 odd years ago and the old and only lift was never working and it was a long old walk up and down the stairs. The same old lift has never been updated and is as much a nightmare today as it was years ago. If the internal gate isnt closed properly it does not move - absolute nightmare. This is a shame as the old place has under gone a lot of investment in the rooms which have improved greatly. Had a couple of bar meals and one was ok but the so called chicken curry is the WORST CURRY ive ever had and left eighty per cent or more. It consisted of chicken pieces, chickpea and goodness knows how many chillies - mouth still numb the next day. The nan bread had to be requested and was either rock hard or soaking wet. Come on Clifton - the comedian in the kitchen is letting the side down. Horrendous!! All staff that i met were friendly and professional without exception.

Had a great stay. Only downside was the size of the en-suite. It was rather small in our standard room. Hasn’t put us off staying again though at sometime in the future.
