The cleaners only made the bed. Bins were not emptied for the whole week we were staying. The sink and toilet wasn't cleaned and most of the time the cups weren't washed-out, we washed them ourselves. We had to ask for milk. Very poor on cleaning. The hotel settees want replacing or at least re covering.The arms of furniture in tatters. Very poor. Reception staff,very polite. We wont be staying there again and came home a day early so checked out a day before we should have.

Came for pleasure, room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good

Everywhere clean, except the bathroom plughole could do with a good scrub, same problem as with our last stay but different room! I notice for our one night stay there was only one handtowel on this occasion - perhaps cutting back on washing, which is an ecological positive! Equally there was no hairdryer so this could be an economical diwn turn ..... or perhaps someone had just nicked it! Anyhow, a decent hotel, great location for us and wonderful staff.

Breakfast was poor. Cold and limited food, always ran out

Had to ask several times about breakfast items being topped up - juice, bacon etc. Key card stopped working at least 5 or 6 times but staff on reception nowhere to be found so couldn’t get into room

Breakfast buffet isnt worth the money, get breakfast from nearby Toby instead. Indoor Bar and restaurant have always been closed. No bathtub. The stars given are for letting us earlier than check in, which we really appreciate. No table present, just something small and jiggly was there. tv should be in the front center of the bed not the far left. Affordable hotel tho, liked the displays and presentations. The 12 pm checkout is good too!

Have stayed at Ibis Barnsley many times. More recently the cleaning standards in the room have gone downhill, specifically the bathroom whereby there were a lot of long hairs on top of the shower trap and the sink overflow and plug area needed a good scrub which I was able to do with a piece of wet toilet paper and some elbow grease to get rid of the scum. Not nice. Bed is always comfortable though and shower powerful, appreciate the addition of a hairdryer that works!

"Yes" to both of those questions. However, I had to ask for the room to be cleaned after 3 days. I wasn't awakened at the prearranged time but luckily awoke early enough to catch the bus, to catch the train. Just a bit of a rush. So, my stay was ok. But it is annoying to be made to pay more when the hotel is busier and less comfortable. Regards, James MacDonald.

The staff are always welcoming from day one. We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and found it a very enjoyable experience. There has been the odd little glitch but rectified right away. The only one problem we found that if you don't want to use your car and want to use the bus service you have to walk into barnsley interchange to go anywhere its a 20 minute walk across a very busy roundabout and road. The rooms are always very clean and tidy but still an excellent place to stay.

The room was spotless, the staff very friendly and helpful. Room warm too. Overall, very good value for money.

Couple of niggles, towels not replaced, no milk and cups not washed up.
